I read about these at some cooking website. I thought they were a gimmick until I ordered a set. They are awesome. I don’t know how I lived without these for 5 decades. They have many functions. In addition to opening shellfish without slitting ones wrists, they assist in peeling and deveining shrimp in almost one motion. If you do not purchase deveined, cooked shrimp, these shears are a must-have. I think you will really value having them around your kitchen.

Honestly, such a simple little thing, yet so useful! I buy head-on fresh shrimp that must be shelled and deveined and was using a little sharp plastic pointed tool made for doing the job that didn't work all that well. I tried using a paring knife, a fork, and all the hacks I found online, and they were all tedious and ineffective. But these little sharp, curved scissors are perfect for the job! They cut cleanly, follow the curve of the shrimp, and leave the shrimp meat intact even after pulling out the vein.

Makes cooking lobsters easier

Maybe it is me using these 2 pairs of scissors when cutting snow crab legs. Maybe the ergonomic shape of the scissors pointing downward was designed for shrimp peelings and de-veining, but cutting snow crab legs with the scissors' tip pointing downward was somewhat awkward. Anyway, the pair of the longer scissors was weaker than the shorter one. Maybe it was the law of physics that the cutting power distributed along the length of the blades. The longer the scissor blades, the weaker at the further point. The 2 pairs of scissors, however, did the work efficiently. It was time saver and cleaner when using them to cut open the snow crab legs. They replaced the crab breakers provided by the restaurant. I don't know why the restaurant provide the customers crab breakers when they eat crab legs. The breakers are useless when the crab legs need to cut open.

These are so much better than crackers but they do break from time to time when we get Hard Shells. Works great for shrimp and crabs.

They were excellent in cutting and deveining shrimps. Adequate for cutting Dungeness crab legs!

Works so well and dishwasher safe

Used them to cut lobster tails and they worked great especially for the money.
