Yogi's Gift® Henna Powder for Hair 2lb Natural Hair Dye Triple Sifted Henna

Great quality with great price. I used Henna powder dyed my grey hair roots, left it on hair for about 2-3 hours then washed away Henna, air dried hair, then applied Indigo powder and left it on hair for about 2-3 hours and washed away Indigo. All grey hair roots turned black/very dark brown, beautiful color. I love my hair color.

First off- I am a ICNHA artist from way back, so this is coming from one who knows a decent bit about henna. As noted by another reviewer, this is the real deal, and I am thrilled, because the good stuff is hard to find!If you're a mehndi artist, you will want to do a sift on this, as its not super-well sifted, but that's nit a big deal. What IS a big deal is that this henna has a great deal of dye release, and it's also pretty stringy (read: easy to do finely-detailed designs with). I am uploading what I'm seeing...made a test batch for hair, half & half lemon/water, and henna to thin batter consistency. It's only been TWO HOURS since mixing, and I got the stain on my palm at one minute exposure...its the real deal, alright! Impressed as heck with this, and absolutely recommend if you're looking for great henna at a good price! Will update when I have hair results.

Please stick to buying pure henna from your closest international market if you want 100% pure henna. Especially if you want to naturally color your hair.I finally tried my henna by yogi gift, sold by Amaze buys. I have been coloring my hair with authentic henna since the 80s. I’ve had friends bring me pure henna from their visits to the Middle East and purchased various brands of pure henna from various international markets. Each quality was a little different, some may be finer than others, so I know my henna very well when it comes to using it as a natural hair dye.That being said, I can guarantee the batch I received is NOT PURE HENNA. It may have 25-50% henna at most. Maybe explains why other reviews said it fades fast after a few washes. This would also explain why other reviews reported their indigo did nothing or very little, after using their henna. The texture was different, more sticky than pure henna. I never bought from yogi before so I don’t know if this is a counterfeit product or if yogis products are misleading. Funny thing, it applies smoother than pure henna, drips less than pure henna, it stains the bathtub a lighter color than pure henna (it still stains), doesn’t leave your hair with that strong earthy smell even after 6 washes like pure henna, and will color your greys that a orange-copper color similar to henna…. That all sounds nice, but it’s still messy!! So, why use a messy MYSTERY product that might have chemical dyes for all you know, when you could use one of those chemical dyes from the store that’s faster and much easier to use? However, if you want to go natural, buy actual pure henna from an international store instead.Update: yogis henna+indigo:I tried the 2 step method using the mystery henna I received, followed by yogis indigo. I left indigo wrapped on my hair overnight. The greys which had previously taken the orange-copper color, didn’t turn black or even brown. It stayed orange. Further confirming the henna was not 100% pure henna. I used the exact same technique I use with authentic henna and organic indigo, which typically will make ALL my greys black.
