Do they harden as they get old?

So far, they're doing very well, soft and effective.

Can someone help me understand what this eraser is good for? I used it in school and had bad experience: does not wipe clean and nearly but leave mess

Other things you can use it with are clean piano keys, remove scuff marks from floors, clean golf balls, clean gold, prevents throw rugs from skidding, and framed pictures from titling.
