Good, just cook down a bit. Helps to cook with Onion/Potato (IMHO) Very good.
Made it twice so far. Son said it tasted just like Japanese Curry the first time and really liked it. He visited Japan last summer. (The first time, I cooked it with onions and potatoes, so think it helped the flavor and to cook down and thicken the sauce.) The second time, perhaps had a bit less flavor since it wasn't cooked with anything and I didn't cook it down enough. But we do love it, and will order again.

Winter comfort food (Japanese style)
This is served in the Japanese Navy every Thursday. During the Meiji Imperial Era (1868โ1912) Emperor Meiji was anxious to bring isolated Japan up to the Western World in technology and education. Japan became especially enamoured of the British and one thing they copied, oddly enough, was Indian Curry as done by the Brits. The British version was at that time basically a beef stew with potatoes and carrots and not very spicy. Japanese food is also not very spicy, although they have some pepper they like. Most Japanese "homey" food is kind of overcooked and bland, believe it or not. The Japanese take on Brit-Indian Curry was to make a seasoned roux base (starch plus fat and spices) and use pork or chicken in addition to beef, beef being very expensive. So if you make this, you need meat (chicken thigh, breast, beef, or pork, sliced thinly) onion, carrot, potato, water and these cubes. After sautรฉing onion, browning meat and adding carrot, potato and water, you cook merely fifteen minutes to soften the vegetables and then stir in these cubes. They quickly thicken into something looking like beef stew. You serve it over Japanese rice (short grain, sticky type rice) or sometimes on ramen noodles. Garnishes can include a shelled soft boiled egg (I don't do this) or pickles such as Japanese rakkyo (picked tiny onions) or beni-shoga (red pickled ginger.) You can use sushi ginger (gari) or I just put on a dab of good Major Grey's chutney. I've made it for company, people who almost never eat Japanese food and they loved it. Kids typically like this, especially the mild and the Vermont brand which is sweeter than most and has honey and apple as a flavoring (very subtle.) This dish is so fast to make, I have it frequently in winter. Put on the rice cooker, then halfway through the rice's 45 min cycle, I'm whipping up the curry for a very satisfying meal. Leftovers reheat pretty well in the microwave but I don't find they keep well more than a day or two; the sauce gets rather thick.

Most delicious mild curry (you can get hot)
My favorite curry arrived and I can't wait to make it! Best price and quick delivery were bonus! I love Vermont Curry mild bc I love a good curry but not too hot and this is perfect and I can put anything I want to in it, usually chickef, onion, carrots, and apple with potatoes! Delicious ๐๐ป

Not a healthy product but absolutely delicious!
Should have read ingredients carefully contains highly inflammatory ingredients. Also MSG. Update: Hesitantly decided to try it since I bought it. And even unopened has no return policy. In my rice maker, I put ground beef on bottom, cut up: 1 onion, 2 carrots, an apple, 2 tomatoes, 1 sweet potato. Added 1 cup water & put 1/2 package of Vermont Curry on top & steamed in rice cooker 30 minutes. Absolutely delicious and so easy! Served with cooked Jasmine rice. I will see how this affects my sensitive gut, but just wow! So good!

Would have added a photo but I ate it all.
I'm going on a curry kick 2019...RIP my colon... This is Curry #2. Was not disappointed. This curry I made with Chicken, Mushroom and Onion. Its smooth and somewhat thin. The curry was delicious, however I will be buying one with more heat. Still a wonderful curry! Its your typical "cook your veggies, Cook your meat, Add water to boil then add curry cubes" what is even better is that you don't have to chop up the cubes (*Cough Cough* I'm looking at you Golden Curry) it just disintegrates into the water with minimal stirring. It actually makes a lot of curry (almost 6 cups). So much so that its going to take me 3 days to get to the next curry...which is House Curry (Kokumaro). In hindsight I should have made only a half of a package. (there's two packages inside) whoops. Oh no...I have too much curry said no one ever. Buy this curry. If you like heat, don't get the mild. If you don't like heat or massive toilet blowout, mild is the way to go for you. Hope this helps :)

Classic comfort dish.
Easy to cook, and even easier to enjoy. Few things are as satisfying as a bowl of curry on a cold day. It also goes a long way, one box is enough to make a full week of meals. Good thing I never get tired of this stuff!

Mild, not hot, spicy, or strong. Just nice mild curry flavor.
I first saw this mentioned when looking at recipes for our new 3 qt instant pot. It piqued my interest. So after a week I ordered it. First try was a chicken breast in the Instant Pot with a single cube of this, chicken broth, and a dash of poultry seasoning. The chicken had fantastic flavor, and when thickened with a bit of flour the chicken broth and Curry made a out of this world gravy. Excellent over rice (Also cooked in the IP at the same time) Our 2 big favorites are Chicken and Turkey. Rear quarters, chicken breasts, or a half a turkey breast. All is delightful. Not hot, not overpowering. Full bodied, complex delightful flavor. We recently reordered. Down to 2 cubes from the original box. We just keep ours in the little trays, in a small plastic sealed container. Seems to keep well, no complaints at all. This product rocks. Live a little, try a little flavor today.
