Ecover Naturally Derived Automatic Dishwasher Powder, Zero Fragrance-Free, 48 Ounce

Sadly I can’t find this for sale on Amazon anymore! It dissolves easily, doesn’t leave behind a residue, and cleans my dishes well when I put them in rinsed off. I don’t have a fancy dishwasher either and it does great. For me it’s 100% worth the money! I just wish they kept selling it!

I prefer powder over tablets. After much research, I decided on this one. It cleans effectively, and it's not as astronomically expensive as other eco options. The worst part, though, is that the boxes kept exploding in the shipping process.

After just a few uses, this seems to be a very efficient detergent. On the first load, we tried using the same amount (reservoir ~3/4 full) as we would for the green box brand name stuff. This proved to be way too much, and left a powdery/gritty film. Since then, we’ve used about half the amount, and the results have been much better. I like that there is no smell. The perfumed kind makes me nauseous. Overall, this seems to be a good value since so little needs to be used. I imagine it would be even cheaper than the big name stuff if you order the multi-pack.

Soap works well and seems environmentally friendly, however had some huge clumps I had to open the box to break up in another container.

I have tested this against the fanciest premium brands, with all their fragrances, plastic pods, and other pollutants. I see no difference in the results. Makes me very happy to use a safer product. I will say, though, that the price has gone way up, and it's hella' expensive.

Works well, no artificial scent, doesn’t leave residue, gets grease off. I don’t put stuck-on food through the dishwasher so can’t speak on that… but it does what it’s supposed to…. leaves my dishes clean.

This works well, but I’ll be looking for an alternative as it leaves a white residue on my baby bottles.

Was looking for a less toxic dishwashing detergent. I read that most everyone uses too much detergent in their dishwashers (including those pre-portioned pods), and that this can both harm the dishwasher and leave residue on dishes. Plus, it’s wasteful! I therefore wanted to try a powder so I could use only what we need for each load. Hubby wasn’t impressed by the first two non-toxic dishwasher detergents I tried. (He is totally in love with Cascade.) He hasn’t had any complaints about this one! I keep our Ecover Zero powder in a large plastic bag under the sink and use a spoon to measure just enough powder per load. I do use a little more for the rare load with very dirty cookware, and I check the silverware as I unload the dishwasher - occasionally a spot of food residue needs to be polished off. Very happy with this more eco-friendly option! *Update* I am also tickled pink by how long this box of dishwasher powder is lasting!!! I used to have to put dishwasher detergent on the list every month. This is lasting many months!
