Beefy... Not much heat. Solid lug mounts and terminals.
Installed this in my RV being fed with 10ft 1 AWG wires (bought separately) . Handles 1200watt loads w/o any issue with minimal heat. Electronics all work fine as well. Good mounts for the lugs. No interference hum sounds from stereo as with previous inverters I had. Only feature I wished it has was a 12 volt on terminal to connect a relay for a mains disconnect but a transfer switch accomplishes the same thing at a slight expense. So far have Renogy inverter, charge controller, and solar panels. I think all their products are of decent quality.

Finally A Quality Inverter
Cables are rated 200A with 3/8โ Copper Eyelet Lugs, excellent cables. These lugs will work fine with 5/16โ marine terminals. For 1/4โ terminals, youโll need a washer. Arcs pretty aggressively, recommend connecting positive line first while unit is switched OFF. This is a sign that there are big caps and might handle big inductive loads well. At 180W, fans are completely off. If you put your ear to the unit, there is an almost imperceptible hum. The tone is lower pitched and is not bothersome or even detectable from a few feet. Connecting/Disconnecting smaller 100W inductive loads doesnโt cause power loss like in cheaper units such as Potek 2000W Pure Sine Wave inverter. At 320W, fans are still off. The hum is now almost undetectable with your ear to the unit. At 1050W, the fans are still off and still almost exactly 120V AC. Iโm impressed. All lines and terminals are ice cold. The hum has taken a new tone, but it is barely detectable with your ear to the unit. At 1130W, the fans are on low. Unfortunately, a high frequency squeal is added to the noise profile that I can hear from 20 feet away. I have young ears (age 30s) and can hear 15kHz+ no problem. You probably arenโt using this thing as a pillow at night, but just be aware. I'm calling the upper limit at 1100W continuous for my personal use because the noise drives me nuts. YMMV. At 1600W, my battery bank voltage drops to 10.8V which may indicate that I am reaching the limits of what loads I can reasonably test with only two batteries and low charge. The fans are at medium speed and weโve dropped to 110V AC. The high pitched squeal is very slightly louder. It seems like the fans are responsible for the squeal. I will recharge the batteries and retest higher loads tomorrow. I am running out of appliances! This is the first inverter of four that has met, and actually exceeded my expectations. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this one. Literally the only issue I've come up with is the high pitched squeal at 1100W+, which is well above my camper van base load 98% of the time. I am a HAPPY CAMPER thus far, thank you Renogy for actually delivering a product that meets and even exceeds its specifications. This is my fourth inverter; all previous inverters were returned for one or more serious issues. At least one reviewer listed the soldered 25A fuses on the mainboard as an issue - they managed to blow one or more of them. I like this unit so much that I don't have the heart to test.

Very good value, works very well and as advertised. Clear instructions.
Preface: I'm using this in a boat which is acceptable but not ideal. It has to do with the way the neutral and ground are connected. However, this is more of an issue with combo interval/charger units, and since this is strictly an inverter that gets turned off when we're finished with it, that makes it acceptable. Please consult a qualified marine electrician. Product evaluation: We are very happy with this inverter. The instructions are clear and it works as described. We have purposely purchased appliances that are lower wattage so that it can run 2-3 of them at once. As a test, I used it to heat a tank of water on the boat and it did the job. If the batteries dip below about 11.5 volts, it will keep working but start beeping. As you may know, flooded batteries (which we have) can drop down to 11.5 volts for a short period without harming them. Once the load is taken off, they generally "recover" to well over 12 volts. While the inverter comes with a wired remote on-off switch, we do not use it. As should always be installed, we have a rotary inverter power cut-off switch between the battery bank and the inverter. We simply leave the power switch on the inverter housing in the on position, then use the rotary switch to turn it on and off. We also installed a 250amp fuse between the battery and the rotory switch. Do not use the inverter without a proper fuse. The inverter comes with 2 battery cables but they were not adequate gauge for our application. There are tables online that will tell you for a given load and length of wire run what gauge you need. Do not gloss over these details. The wires being included could lead you to believe they are all that's needed to connect the inverter to the battery, but that would leave out the fuse and cut-off switch. We have now been using the inverter for a couple of months with zero issues. Because we have it installed where we can't easily see it, we like the short beep that it makes when we power it up. It gives a similar but longer beep when powered down. No negatives to report.
