Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought two different sensors and tested them in a tall container of water. The response of this one was much better, so I installed it in the 100 gallon water tank of my sailboat because the old one gave incorrect information (it showed a quarter of a tank when it was empty). This one seems to be working well and I have a lot more confidence in the meter reading.

Description on web site did not include restriction to mount with 1 inch clearance to tank bottom. Literature included with part included the restriction, causing me to return item for one with correct length. Otherwise, the part seems to work as expected.

I purchased one that was a little less money. To me they looked the same. Don't know if I just happened to buy a bad one. But this one I'm happy with. When I ohmed it out the marks were about a inch apart all the way down the rod. As I was filling my tank after installing it using a dip stick it was right on the money with my gauge. It will show in 1/8 measurements. As you are moving the needle will bounce around a bit due to fuel moving in the tank.

Been working great for the last 3 years.
