Hilda: smart and brave
My daughter loves the stories of the books. It is about a smart girl who confronts strange creatures. She is brave and clever, she finds her way to interact with the unknown creatures. About cursing: I can confirm minimal profanities in the series. In the first book, a big monster says "damn it". In the third one, a naughty boy says "shut up". Note that the main character (Hilda) and her mother are polite. I do not see the cursing uneducational in the book, due to the context of it. It is obvious from the story that the boy that is cursing "shut up" is an impolite boy with nasty behavior (he throws stones at the birds). Our children confront these impolite behaviors in society, it is good to see them from unlikeable characters.

First grader Loves these Books.
After watching Hilda on TV my 1st grade granddaughter requested these books. She loves them & they encourage her to read. Her 4 year old brother likes to sit & look at the pictures. I like how they encourage a child's imagination & how Hilda is independent & overcomes her mistakes.

These comics are great! They took main plot points from the tv show and movie and compiled into a comic series. Would love to see a comic for season 3.

Great Books Great Condition. Fast shipment. Stories are a good match to the cartoon series. Great read for your kids first and if they love these then show them the cartoon. It will be pure magic for them.

As an Elementary Teacher Highly Recommend
Hilda is a great series. I have been an elementary teacher for 15 years and my degree specializes in childhood development ages Birth-12 years old. This series introduces conflict in a positive way as Hilda is often able to understand both sides of conflict and navigates them with positive outcomes. As for the review from another customer stating it has bad inappropriate language that is simply false. The language is on par with books for 8-10 year olds. So are the illustrations. I have just read all the books in the past 24 hours and I don’t see any issues with the words or illustrations. I have even recommended these to my 5 year old God Son’s parents as a way to introduce him to conflict. Book one in the series is especially great at focusing on multiple perspectives.
