When you let the Pokémon out for the first time are they mad? Does it say how long they’ve been in there? Is there a best by date?

They actually pretty nice most of the time, if you ask them how long they've been in the ball you may get an answer or possessed and there is no "best by" date but don't feed them after midnight. Good lord, don't feed them after midnight.
