The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Seasons 1 & 2 - Essentials Blu-ray + Digital

They need to produce more with these characters. Just a lovable show. I like how the narration is filled with quips and side notes that make you chuckle. If you are a newbie like me, you find the story "Endless Eight" is definitely a marathon. Completely different from the rest of the show and most other anime series in general. It's basically 8 theme and variations of the exact same tale. Even though I wasn't completely sure until the end, I kind of figured out about half way through what was causing the problem. I sort of felt like I was the director or editor after so many viewings. Then the following story actually is about being a director and editor. And I loved watching the film they produced. Then in the last episode, the producers are able to get a chuckle from the viewer watching a character just sitting in a room reading or another one carrying a space heater up a hill. Just a great production with animation worthy of a theatrical release. ("ANIME: Storytelling at its best")

My favorite anime of all time, highly recommend.

I’ve heard great things about this anime and was looking forward to watching it. The animation is really good but it wasn’t as good as people made it out to be. It has a little bit of a “Little Busters” feel except Little Busters pulled a twist on you toward the end and gradually let you in on what was happening. This one they kinda go ahead and throw it at you and then there is little to no surprise. Also I just finished watching yesterday and all I can really seem to remember is the “endless 8” which isn’t a good thing. Honestly, if it would have been 4 maybe even 5 episodes it would have been pretty good, but 8 was laborsome and kinda annoying. It’s cool seeing the subtle changes the first couple of times but then you just want it to end and they just over did it and it was hurt by that. Also nearly 1/3 of the episodes are basically the same thing. It started out witty but they just kept beating the dead horse. The characters aren’t bad but I really didn’t care for any of them. I don’t really get the appeal that got this one such great reviews because it’s not exactly anything new or special and they seemed to miss opportunities to be great. The “movie” they make is kinda funny but again it wasn’t exactly something groundbreaking. Overall the ending didn’t really end anything, and I’m not sure if the movie will conclude things better or not, but I doubt I will ever find out because I don’t really care to watch the movie.

The characters are loveable and the story is weird. No spoilers here but I just love this series and there's nothing else quite like it. I wish there were more seasons made. The picture and sound are great on blu-ray. So good I had to have a physical copy for my collection. Highly recommended!

I couldn't find any details or reviews for the Essentials version of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya so I purchased this product and will share what it entails. This Blu Ray comes with a Funimation Digital Copy and 4 Blu Ray discs. Disc 1 contains episodes 1-10, Disc 2 contains episodes 11-20, Disc 3 contains episodes 21-28, and Disc 4 contains extras. If you were wondering, the episodes are presented in chronological order and not in air date order. The picture quality is sharp and the sound is good. I hope this review helps others looking at this and wondering what's the difference between previous releases of this title.

Pienso que esta es un artículo más bien para fanáticos, la resolución de imagen no es muy diferente a las de streming, pero siempre es bueno tenerla en físico. Ojo, no trae sub en español, solo en inglés.

Haruhi Suzumiya is an amazing Anime with a protagonist who definitely belongs on the villains wiki, i love this anime but sadly this isn’t going to work on Australian dvd plays/playstations/xbox’s so if your in Australia, make sure you have a dvd player that isn’t region locked

画質が綺麗です、音も良好 ただ日本語にすると、字幕が消せないんですが 宇宙人、超能力者、タイムトラベラーには問題ないッス‼️ それは冗談でファンなら気にならないです(笑)🙋日本版のは高くて抵抗がある人には最適だと思いました

Eu fiz questão de comprar o blueray, pois além de caracterizar muito o estilo de produção da ''KyotoAnimation'', o anime também marca uma época muito importante da minha vida. Uma obra prima, que toca em pontos fundamentais da ficção, uma produção difícil de não se apaixonar. Lembrando que não vem junto com o filme, se estiver interessado, terá que comprar separadamente.
