Great low-cost sandbags for independent filmmakers
I emded up buying another 4 of these Neewer sandbags on open box/used discount. These are better than a lot of other cheap or no-name sandbags available on Amazon. They have the dual zipper construction, they're less likely to tear or start unraveling at the seams. Obviously you still can't be as rough with them as you can be with a Matthews or Impact brand sandbag. I use gravel from Home Depot instead of sand. It's easier to fill the bags, it's less messy, it's cheap, and the bag is still able to be shaped (unlike using larger rocks/weights). You can add a ziplock bag or similar if you really want to protect the sand/rocks from getting wet, but I didn't opt to use ziploc bags. I'm often not using my bags in the rain or near the water, and I figure gravel will dry faster and better than sand. Be careful when filling them, you want to keep checking to make sure you can close the zippers easily. I find it's best to move the gravel around and make sure it gets into the corners on the top as well.

Nifty sand bags!
Doubled lined zippers keep the sand in the bags and not on the ground or on my floor. I use them on my lighter light stands and they really give the supported weight I need to keep a stable base. The fabric lined handle on top of the bags are well stitched and give a good handle on the bag. I can carry 20 lbs of each of them without worrying about them spilling out or breaking. Great work out too!

Just filled these with loose change and they work pretty well. The zippers could be better
Just filled these with loose change and they work pretty well. The zippers could be better... they all pretty much arrived split, but went back to normal once I zipped them each to one side and back again. Overall, pretty sturdy material. Holds weight well. Can hang from bottom of tripod (on hook) or lay over bottom of stand to keep from wobbling or tipping over. Performs both tasks very well. Good product so far. Good company too, I think. Have a few things from them and all have been exactly what they advertise. Thanks Neewer, and Amazon.

Good quality
These sandbags are so cute! I got the yellow and black striped set so they'd look like caution flags so everyone would know to be careful with the equipment around them. They can lay around my tripod legs and wrap around for better holding or hang from my tripod center column hook at the bottom. These really give the extra weight I need to keep everything from toppling over. Works with all kinds of materials and holds twenty pounds, easy. Double zippers, double layered for no spillage. Good set and they get the job done even with high winds.

Great find to resolve a windy problem with patio furniture
We live in a very windy area of Arizona and were using fire dept sandbags to weight down our patio furniture from blowing over. Those sandbags not only leaked over time but were very unattractive. I found these bags on Amazon and they work perfectly for weighing down our patio furniture. They hold as much sand in each two pouches as a fire dept sandbag (half filled). They are durable canvas with a double zipper so they will not leak and a handle which makes it very easy to hang over the bar on the back of a patio chair or table. They work perfect and they look good and no mess. These chairs are not going anywhere with these bags in place. Would highly recommend them if you have similar issues with wind and patio furniture.

It kind of looks like slipping bags of contraband into a hidden compartment
You will need 70-80lbs of sand. 1 50lb bag could possibly do it if you don't fill them up to the max. I put the sand in double-bagged gallon ziplock bags first before inserting into these canvas bags. It kind of looks like slipping bags of contraband into a hidden compartment, so you might want to do it where passers by won't wonder what you're doing. :-) Filling up this many bags (with the ziplocks) is time consuming...factor about an hour, plus the trip to your local hardware store to pick up the sand. The quality of the canvas and zippers isn't the best ever, but it's more than adequate for this application. The bags look clean and professional once filled....excellent investment for securing whatever gear you need to weigh down.

Very pleased
This four pack of sand bags is off the chain! They can hold twenty pounds of gravel, sand, pebbles, dirt, rocks; each. The fabric is thick and double layered for extra security and hold as well as the handle sewn on at the top. No ripping or leaking with the two zipper system, all the material stays in the bag and not on my floor. and really holds my flimsy stands down. Was worried I'd have to replace them for heavier ones but this was an inexpensive fix that works and saves me money! Very pleased with them!

The price is good but the quality control isn't.
Item was very inexpensive but the manufacturing is also cheap. While they work well and hold sand the one is missing the zipper part. I guess they sewn on a zipper without the most important part. Probably the next one they made that day has two zipper pulls on it. Because of that I can't open the zipper and fill it with sand. It will be my "light" bag since only half of it has sand. Hopefully they will hold up to everyday use.

Good!
Anyway Neewer Thanks for a great product it works pretty well!
