It kills by contact. There’s no preventative in this shampoo. Make sure to follow the directions of massaging the suds in for 5 minutes to kill as much as possible.

Once you place your pooch in the tub, it depends on how much shampoo you use, according to the weight of your dog. Once you have the appropriate amount of shampoo, mix well with water. Please be sure to avoid sensitive areas and then lather up, leave on for 5 minutes, and then thoroughly rinse off.
