Nortiv 8 really excellent fit and quality! AMAZING!
I honestly purchased these shoes expecting them to just be returned due to fit or quality but instead they are absolutely AMAZING!!! I’ve had them now for a little over a month and my history with shoes is quite complex. My past shoes have been high end brands with price tags over three digits and/or goretex styles. I’m female but after multiple ankle surgeries I’ve had a hard time finding women’s shoes that fit and have only had luck with men’s wide for years now. I also reside in farmland so I consider waterproof shoes a necessity. I shopped around stores and had tried on multiple pairs but none were meeting both fit and waterproof criteria so I ordered these. The day before they arrived I did find a pair that cost 3x more. When the Nortive8 arrived they did have an odor so I let them air out of the box for a day. It seemed most of the odor was associated with the box and airing them out worked. I then tried them on and the fit was exactly how the chart said it would be. I really liked that there was a chart that showed the difference between each size in regular and wide width by measuring your foot. I even found that there was a website for this brand that had the model and same size charts with how to measure. Fit has always been my number one reason why a shoe gets returned or put back on the shelf and this passed the test! Now I’m not running trails but using these as everyday shoes but I am super impressed with how versatile they are. Standing on concrete floors waiting in the store line or walking around grocery shopping? The cushion insoles are comfortable and feet feel good. Walking the dog? Grass, gravel, and a romp on a creek trail is not a problem. My bad ankle feels supported by the upper material. They haven’t slipped when crossing over rocks in the creeks. They don’t feel too heavyweight but not as lightweight as you’d find with goretex waterproof styles. Waterproofness has been tested and my feet have remained dry walking in the rain or through wet grass and small puddles. Should your pup decide to go for a swim and pull you off balance into a pond and the shoes are submerged, then they are not waterproof. Insoles are removable and the mud cleaned off easily. One more thing I like about them is that the shoelaces are long enough to double knot. Most other shoes I buy replacement laces so I can do this. Oh, remember that pair I bought at 3x more than this? Had I not worn them they would have been returned!! With the exception of color the Nortiv beats them on everything and are the pair that I grab for!! I truly am surprised by how good this pair of shoes are for the price and would definitely recommend buying these! I’m going to be buying Nortiv 8 again and forget about those other brands!

Comfortable hiking shoes
These shoes are very comfortable and fit very well for the size. They look good and seem to be high quality. The one thing I noticed with them is that the sole beneath the ball of your foot is shaped a little oddly, making it feel like you are stepping on something. This only lasted for a few days, but it wasn't what I'm used to from hiking shoes like these. The shoes also seem to tend to angle your ankles inward, though that may just be my own ankles as I have that in other shoes sometimes as well. The shoes offer good traction on terrain, but I've found them to have very poor traction on wet floors. You can easily slide around on a wet floor as if you were wearing ice skates. But otherwise, the traction is good. Overall, these are good shoes and I'd recommend them for anyone looking for a good hiking shoe at a decent cost.

Comfortable and Waterproof but Not for Heavy Daily Use
These hiking shoes are comfortable right out of the box and provide good support for long walks and trails. The waterproofing works well, keeping my feet dry in wet grass, shallow puddles, and light rain. The tread grips nicely on dirt, gravel, and uneven terrain, making them versatile for different outdoor activities. I wear them a lot, and with heavy regular use they do not last as long as I would like. The soles and material start showing wear faster than higher-end hiking shoes. However, for someone who hikes only occasionally or uses them for lighter activities, they should last a long time. The fit is true to size, and they are comfortable enough for all-day wear. For the price, they are a solid value, especially for casual or occasional hikers who want waterproof protection and decent durability.

Great Quality and Value!
Very happy with these shoes! Very well made and inexpensive. I was looking for a new pair of yard work (4 acres) shoes as my others were worn out. Didn't want heavy boots but something comfortable and durable. These are perfect! They are not light weight hikers but durable and tough. I believe they will last a long time. With all the choices out there I feel fortunate to have found these.

Good waterproof shoes for the price
Shoes arrived well packaged. I’ve got OCD, so laces were laced opposite, which I like. Shoes were a bit heavier than expected, but they’re hiking shoes, so it’s understandable. The wide width was comfortable, and shoes are well made. I like the look of the black and grey. We’ll see how well they perform on my cruise to Alaska. Thanks!

Heavy and Stiff (but not all bad?)
[Pros] 1. Durable. 2. Tight construction 3. Affordable [Cons] 1. HEAVY! I mean I get these are hiking shoes but damn. I would happily accept the weight if everything else was good. (it's not). 2. "Wide" sizes only like 1-2mm wider than Regular. 4. Uppers lack sufficient material to even THINK about cinching in the quarters. Seriously, viewed from the top, this shoe is like 50% tongue and you are never going to cinch any tighter because the laces get locked into place by the metal eyelets, Even if the laces were different, there just isn't enough upper material. They way this shoe looks at normal tightness is how any other shoe looks when drastically loosened. [Overall] They seem relatively well made for this price bracket. If you have wide feet (I'm a 2E), don't be fooled. This shoe is made for someone with D (Medium) width and narrow arch circumference. I would have returned them if not for needed them for a camping trip. They are tight but not painfully tight. I'm stuck with them now and I'll probably wear them occasionally but I'm already looking for a better-fitting budget hiker.

Well-constructed, Comfortable Hiking shoes at a Good Price
I have been wearing Keen hiking shoes now for a few years. I was a bit skeptical about buying these Nortiv8 hiking shoes on Amazon as I was not familiar with the brand. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality construction and durability of these shoes, so far it turns out to be a pretty good decision! With the price of similar hiking shoes two times the price of these, I figured I would take a chance, and if they fell apart or wore out in a few years, I would still be happy! The shoes’ fit was perfect for my seemingly wide feet, as they slip right into the shoes with no pressure points. I'm happy to say they seem to be well-built. They are comfortable, as I was able to wear them for several hours while doing yard work in my large 2-acre yard without any issues. They also have some cushion in the insoles, which really helps when going for a nice walk on a park trail, or a short hike in the nearby mountains. These Nortiv8s also have a large toe box, which feels good for my feet and toes. For each pair of hiking shoes, Nortiv8 also includes a 2nd pair of shoe laces – a nice touch! They also seem to be heavier than my Keen hiking shoes, and slightly bulkier. One thing that kind of bugs me is their shoe laces – they are several inches too short. If I put the laces in the top holes, I can barely tie them – maybe I shouldn’t use the top holes (?). I definitely cannot use a double knot that I like to use before I go hiking. The tongue on these shoes is quite thick, and the shoes also feel a bit clunky – but perhaps they just need to be ‘broken in’ some (as their website suggests). But these are small complaints when considering the price, comfort, and the quality of the shoes. I haven’t yet tried to see how ‘waterproof’ they are yet, but if I have any issues, I will just clean them off and spray them with the 3M boot waterproof protection I have (I did this with my Keen hiking shoes and it made them look a little darker (an enhancement!) but it worked perfectly! Please note that on the Nortiv8 website, there are details on how the hiking shoes should fit, what socks to wear, and how to break-in these shoes – very helpful! I would recommend these shoes as of now, so pick up a pair and you shouldn’t be disappointed. I'll update my review if something goes wrong with the shoes over the long term, but for now, I am very happy with this purchase.

Might want to order wide width if they have it
Overall comfortable and solidly built. Good foot protection and traction. My only issue is the width. I have a fairly narrow foot, and I purchased a full size bigger, and the shoes are still a bit too narrow in the forefoot. This just limits the amount of time that I can wear them.

Fantastische Schuhe!
