I love these soap nuts! They are absolutely amazing! Way better than I anticipated! I gently simmered them in a pot on the stove to make a liquid cleanser. I simmered them for about a half hour. Then took them off the burner and let them cool to almost room temperature. Then put them through a stainless steel mesh strainer, after that strained them through the muselin bag that came with the soap nuts, to make sure all the bits came out. Then used the liquid in a small load of laundry, I used about 1/4 cup, it did amazingly! Clothes came out clean and then when I put my clothes through the dryer, they came out soft and fluffy. I used the liquid as shampoo too and loved it! No greasy feel at all, my hair feels clean and soft! These are so simple and NO chemicals to worry about!

I was skeptical, but, they work. I DID need to use more than suggeted, but then I do have a really big washer tub, too. Much bigger than a 'normal' washload So, I filled two of the bags that come with this 2/3 full of the nut hulls, (they are already seeded, though on at least one page they are advertized as being whole. - its just the hull, actually, not the entire nut.) tied them in bowknots, tossed them into the washer tub, filled the tub- (top loader) let it soak for 15 or so minutes, then added the clothes. Less clothes is more here. They DO come out clean,- smelling like.... well, ... nothing! YAYAY! HOW do I know they are clean? I included socks, let the entire load SIT in the washer overnight - usually means I have to re-wash the entire load, too, because of the smmell that grows in the bateria- not this time! STILL smelled as clean as when the load was finished. Its been warm here the last week, so I was shocked the load didn't start smelling a little like a soured rag from sitting all evening and night in the closed washer! I am SOLD!

I liked how this product was a great idea to help the environment. I noticed that I don’t see much bubbles during the whole washing cycle. I know that it’s probably expected, but I wasn’t sure if it was washing my clothes. I then read online that you have to use warm water or if you used cold water you have to soak it in warm water for like 5 mins. After doing that, my clothes seemed cleaned. However, there was a slight smell to the wet clothes but goes away after drying. It just seemed like a lot of work to keep using the product.

I love that this product is a lot more environmentally-friendly and that one order does 500 loads of laundry. It sounds too good to be true, but it's not. I do like the product itself. I've only had an issue with towels/heavier items. My towels don't smell that great after using this product. I added in more of the nuts for heavier loads like that, but it didn't really help. However, all my clothes come out just fine. Like other reviews said, there's not a strong perfume smell as with traditional laundry detergent, which I like. Either way, even if you need to add something additional to heavier loads, I would still recommend this product because it works for most things. It's well worth the money and the fact that you don't have to throw away a ton of plastic.

I was very skeptical and bought these on a whim along with a jug of castile soap. It comes with a small bag to put the nuts into the washer so that's nice. These produce almost no suds but seem to clean fine. Clothes come out clean and there is no scent. I'm not sure if they would work as well on very dirty clothes but for everyday clothes, sheets etc they are great.

Unable to even use these because they are all so stuck together. I typically use EcoNuts, and yes, it sucks that they come in a plastic bag, but at least they don't get wasted like these will. I messaged customer service because if you break them up, they are too small and come out from the bag and make a mess in your washer. But if you don't break them up, you have about ten soap berries in one clump, some even more. Customer service said they will send a new one out once they get their new batch in, but I don't have high hopes that they actually will, or that it will be any different with the new batch.

I love love love love love this laundry detergent. I would definitely recommend soap nuts to everyone I know. It's amazing how my clothes feel after I wash them! I washed and old saving pillow and all three of my roommates exclaimed how it looked like I replaced the pillow with a new one or that the pillows colors seem to have come back to life! It's an amazing product. It makes my clothes feel softer and look brighter than when I first bought them! I think too many people use way too much detergent on their clothes and it's having subtle health effects. For me my arms tend to break out if I use liquid detergents or even just too much of them. The soap notes are a great alternative and way more economical!!!!

I think this is a good idea, however, the packaging should have been better to protect the soap nuts, mine came to me crushed because there was no cushioning in the box. And the small bag that is included is really not good because the bag is not sewed up all the way so pieces fall out in the wash. A zip up bag would work better. They really do not work well for clothes that have a heavy sweat smell from cutting the grass or doing yard work. So I am probably not buying again.
