How much space does say a 5 minute 8 mm take up in the form of mbs or gbs?

A 5 minute 8mm film will be converted to an mp4 file about 325mb. Please note that the digitized file will playback at 30fpm. To play at normal speed you need to use a video editor app to slow it down to 16fpm for 8mm or 18fpm for super 8 film. That will increase file size to about 410mb. Also note if your movies have sound this device does not digitize the sound.

How do I convert the 30 fps that is the result of the scan to the proper viewing speed of 18 fps ?

Any film editor app should have a change speed function, select 18fpm for super 8, or 16fpm for 8mm if available, or 57% will be sufficient for either size film.

Does it work with 220V?

No. It does not work with 220v. It is 110v.
