An update to a handy hotspot to use abroad.
I used this service before and it worked quite well. I cannot try this newer device until I get to Europe.

It’s good, but it could be a lot better/DON’T expect the advertised 150mbps downloads
Very interesting device, has been working 50/50 since activating the 8 free GB of data for the US. it's been using mostly the T-mobile network with a few exceptions when it used AT&T. (It does not work on Verizon) according to my inquiry to get a SIM card from them and add it to my phone plan. I've used it with my cell, my kids tables and my iPad connected to it and so far the results have been good (for what I need it), nothing extraordinary or so. Nowhere near the advertised download speeds of 150 mbps; not even close…I've average speeds of 35-40mbps Downloading with 1-3 devices connected at once and as low as 2-5mbps with 2 bars and 1 device connected at once, so NO! You CAN’T run 10 devices (efficiently) at once; You can probably connect 10 devices but you’ll be getting 3mbps or less per device. So far it’s been working fine but I live in the suburbs with a major city very close and almost no dead points of cell service by any carriers in my area so I have not yet been able to test it out in the country which is the main reason I bought it for when I go camping in the woods I can have access to live tv without using and killing my phone’s battery because is used as a hotspot. One of the major disappointments so far has been the battery life; it’s supposed to last 8-12 hours of operation with up to 10 devices connected but so far the battery has only lasted 4-5 hours with 2-3 devices at once. I will keep testing it for another week before the return window closes and will update Wether it’s worth keeping it since I cannot use it with Verizon cause they don’t support this device on their network and it’ll suck if I paid $170 for this thing and can’t rely on its connectivity to a good network. Last thing, I don’t like that it goes to sleep mode too fast and the touchscreen does not wake up the device you have to look for the power button and then slide your finger to open it again, that’s not that effective and very distracting when you have to do it every few seconds.

Loss of data!
This device comes with 10 GB of data. Unfortunately, the instructions do not tell you that if you sign up using Apple, you can’t see the password that is needed in order to connect to the Wi-Fi. Then, if you change to a different email address, you lose all your data. We reached out to them via the email. Nothing. No response at all. Crickets, that’s it. So we basically spent a good chunk of money on this device and still have to buy data just to test it out to make sure it works before we leave on our international trip. And no customer service whatsoever. Not awesome. ***** UPDATE ***** Changing our 1 star to 3 stars. Customer service did get back to us and told us how to 'get the data back'. The suggestion worked! YAY! The only issue now is that we still have to buy data for our trip. We purchased this item for an international trip, but the data that comes with the box is local, which we don't need. So we still have to buy a global plan. None of the product details or instructions mentioned any of this that we could see. For two phones, the data runs out really really fast. It was more expensive to buy this device and all of the multiple purchases of data than if we had just used the local wi-fi service in the country we were visiting.

Coverage Issues but fantastic CS (Customer Service)
I have to say I used this in the sticks at my summer trailer in a campground where I have the worst ever cell phone coverage. The first couple weekends it was a bit finicky, the third weekend I was there, the service was horrendous. On the app you're able to contact CS. It was a Saturday night at like 9pm and the person in the chat was the most helpful person ever. We text back and forth for about 35 mins until they had me running on a great connection. That weekend I had all my electronics on it. It was great. The data seemed to build up rather quickly. But for the very short time I needed it, it was definitely worth it. I will try local service next camping season and see how that works out for me. If not I still have my unit and can add data at any time. If you're looking for short term coverage or in a rut it's not perfect but it's not the worst. I have to say they have better CS than some big name brands I've been a customer with.

Yet another fantastic mobile hotspot from Glocalme.
At first, I was reticent to upgrade to the 4G version because I still have one of their original 3G models from way back ( and it still works great to this day). However, one day I figured I might as well get it and test it out for myself and compare it to the one I already have. I was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades. The touch screen is very responsive and there are several tools to help you manage your data usage, including a network optimization feature which helps to resolve any lagging in the Internet connection that you might be experiencing. There is a SIM card slot if you want to install your own SIM card when traveling. And there's also an option to switch to the SIM card network on the user interface when you arrive in your destination country. Usually when you buy a hot spot from Glocalme you get a free Wi-Fi package, and I was surprised that I didn't receive not one but two packages-- one for domestic usage and the other for international. I have never had a problem with the speed, but that will usually depend on your destination and the signal strength of where you're trying to use it. I have streamed a 720p video on YouTube without any buffering issues, and personally that's good enough for me. If you're looking for a great MiFi hotspot that gives you value for money, I'd recommend not just this product but their other mobile hotspots as well.
