My 2013 Hyundai Veloster trunk struts were making a low hissing noise every time the trunk had already been pulled up. What's worst is that you needed to lift a little harder than before to make sure the trunk was fully opened, or it could fall back down. I popped these in a few minutes after delivery, quick and easy. For those Veloster DIYers who might be a little loss as to how: 1. Pull the trunk all the way up and get something or someone ready to hold the trunk up. 2. On each of the struts there are these rings with a tab for a flat head screwdriver on each end; pry them off and over the ball joint. Start with the top as it's easier to get to than the bottom. 3. With the tab off and over, the strut should just pop off with a little tug. 4. Do Step 2 for the bottom joint and you're done. 5. With the old strut off, simply push and pop in the new one starting with the top, and the bottom. Do this for each side, I'd recommend doing them one at a time so that it's easier for the person holding the trunk. I managed to do it without help but I'd rather have someone there if I had to do it again.

After several years the oem ones were not working too well and holding the hatch open every time I needed to load groceries was getting annoying. I looked up a video on YT on how to install them and it literally took less than 5 minutes to take the ones out and replace them with these. I cannot speak for their durability yet as I have had them for only a few weeks, but as far as ease of installation, price, and functionality, they are great. I got startled the first few times I opened the hatch and it went up so quickly. I'd forgotten the convenience of it and not being worried that it would fall on my head while trying to dig something out of the "trunk"

These! Easy installation! These mechanics/dealerships makes everything seems like you need them. When the guy popped out the old one and put in the new one, I was like, this what they be charging for, glad he didn't. I could do that the next time I need to. The quality is great did a few research before buying this brand. Watched a few videos on installation. It supports my hood cause that trunk is heavy. It fits snuggly. The hold is holding haven't had any issues and the function is there, wasn't able to open my trunk for almost a year and as soon as I installed that, it's functioning 👌.

Fast replacement for the factory struts. You're going to need another person or a stick to hold up the hatch.

Update (Jan 2019): The seller reached out to me and offered a replacement set to replace the faulty set I originally ordered. I installed them last summer (2018), but decided to give it some time to see how well they would work. Almost a year later and the lift supports are holding strong. Great product with a great customer support team. Bought these on April 2018 and they worked like a charm; up until last week (June 2018) when they stopped working and no longer hold up my hatchback's door. Installed them correctly and as instructed so it is such a shame since these had good reviews. I will be asking for a refund or replacement part. Hopefully I just received a faulty set.

I'm not at all handy, but I changed these out on my 2013 Veloster Turbo in about 10 minutes, by myself. This part fits great and now my hatch opens easily, and more importantly, stays up! To replace, just hold up the hatch with one hand and pry off both c-clips on one strut (top and bottom joints) with a small flat head screwdriver. Old strut easily comes off. New strut is already extended with new c-clips installed, and pops right on. No tools necessary. Repeat the process on the other side. Couldn't be easier. Of course, read the included instructions, get a buddy, wear eye protection, etc.

Installation took 5 minutes. Work well even with the (minimal) added weight of the Sequence spoiler.

Bought to replace weak trunk lift struts on a 2016 Veloster. Perfect fit and working well after the first year, no noticeable decrease in strength yet. Happy with the quality and price.
