Q: can you use it to store fountain pens

The box will store any pen up to 7.5 inches long.

You can wash the box in your washing machine.Please use the gentle cycle, use a maximum water temperature of 30°C/86°F. Lay flat to dry.

Q: Will this hold 24-48 sharpies?

yes, at least 24 and possibly 48. It is very roomy and you can stack items above the zipper line without them spilling out.

Q: Would Velcro stick to the interior lining?

It’s a brushed nylon interior so I think Velcro would stick.
