Awesome BB cream!
I have been experimenting with different foundations/bb creams lately because I wanted something lighter that was not going to break me out. I LOVE L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation, but find that it upsets my skin a bit. My skin is very very sensitive to products and will break out after wearing a product just ONE time. Although this sucks, it also is very useful in helping me quickly eliminate products that will or will not work for me. For example, I tried the Maybelline Fit me Foundation (it has a TON of amazing reviews). The finish was flawless and really nice, but after wearing it for the first time for a few hours, my skin had broken out ALL OVER. My skin was completely clear that morning when I applied the foundation. So now on to my review of this bb cream: I ordered the Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream based off of all the positive reviews. Here are the highlights: -I've worn this several times already ALL DAY and my skin has not broken out once. -I apply this with a slightly damp beauty blender and while the finish is not exactly matte, it's beautiful. It doesn't even look like you're wearing makeup; it dries to a soft dewy matte finish (if that's a thing!) I DO wear Maybelline Blur primer underneath. -Again, this DOES NOT LOOK LIKE MAKEUP ON YOUR SKIN! Very very natural finish all day. -Did not prevent my face from getting oily throughout the day, but it's fine, I just blot. The finish still looked natural and healthy all day; no caking, no oxidation. The staying power is impressive given that it's just a bb cream. -The coverage is about light/medium. If you have a ton of blemishes you are trying to cover, you will likely need a lot of concealer. -I was really upset that there were only so few color options available, so I bought 3 of them (light, medium and deep) so that I can blend my own color depending on how tan I am. The darker colors are very warm, so I blend in a little bit of LA Girl Blue Pigment. This stuff is awesome! -Even though there are very few shade options, I realized that since this is not a full coverage foundation the colors just blend in nicely with your skin tone as long as you selected a close enough match to your color. So don't stress too much about the color choice and buy multiple colors if needed and blend your own custom color. Overall, this is an amazing bb cream and I think I will replace my L'oreal foundation. I LOVE that it looks like I'm not wearing makeup and the fact that my face doesn't have pimples all over it at the end of the day when I wash this off is just awesome! Definitely worth a try!!

Great Foundation.
Loving this foundation. No smell. Even coverage without being greasy. Easy to apply. I just add a drop of serum and can put it on without a sponge. Blends very well and gives good coverage without being caky. Perfect for every day use. Good color match. You could buy two tones and blend if needed for change in coloring during different seasons.

Light, natural coverage
Better than expected, it provides light, natural looking coverage. A little goes a long way so it's a good value. It is nearly odor free. You have to really shake it up before use since it tends to separate and get oily. Overall, one of the better budget BB creams.

Great smoothing and oil control
I have combination skin, which is mostly just super oily and this stuff has changed everything! I tried the foundation version too (and didn't like it as much), but the BB cream is the best new product I've found in the past 10 years. Amazing oil control. It's not full enough coverage for me so I add some powder on top, but the look is flawless

Holy grail status: achieved
Holy. Cow. I can honestly say, this is the best base product I’ve ever used. And just to give that some context, I’ve worked in product development in the beauty industry for several years, in addition to being a total foundation junkie. I watch foundation reviews religiously and have tried literally over 100 different base products in my life. I’ve spent up to $85+ and as little as $3 on a foundation and have tried products at all price points in between- and out of all of those products, this ~$7 product has quickly became my HG. I have weird skin- it’s tight and dry when I wash my face, but I get oily through the day. I hate applying powder because it clings weird to my skin, but I always have to apply it because I hate super matte foundations. Even though that’s the case, I gave this one a shot because one of my fave foundation reviewers was raving about it. I was AMAZED at how incredibly smooth this stuff made my skin. I have quite a lot of pitted acne scarring on my cheeks, and nothing blurs them- nothing. This was the first product I’ve used in my lifetime that actually diminishes the look of my scars significantly. Granted, I used the Tatcha silk canvas underneath, but that primer has never blurred my scarring or my pores at all with any other product. In fact, it hasn’t really done me any favors in the past- I just threw it on because it was expensive and I want to use it up. And now, 8 hours after application, even though I applied no powder at all, my face makeup (including blush and bronzer, which would usually be blotchy and partially worn off by now) still looks PERFECT. No greasy t-zone (unheard of!!), no separation, no clinging to dry or textured spots, not even the reappearance of my acne scarring. It literally looks like I just applied it ten minutes ago. All that and it isn’t completely matte to where it kind of deadens the skin- your skin just looks soft, blurred and velvety. I immediately came back to grab a backup as soon as I checked the mirror 8 hours in. I am SO beyond excited to find a bb cream that way outperforms the most expensive foundations out there and costs barely more than a latte. Covergirl, you haven’t been my favorite brand in the past, but you’ve knocked his one out of the park. This is pure gold, people!! Get your hand on it!

The Review You Were Looking For...
Like you, I was searching for a less heavy foundation to wear every day–you know, something that still has minimal to light coverage but doesn't look too 'heavy baked.' Amazon of course recommend me to two products: (1) CG Smoothers and (2) CG Clean Matte BB Creams. So I bought both and compared, so you don't have to... Please note, I'm a 30 year old mom still suffering will occasional breakouts and uneven skintone. Nothing new, just life... I normally wear the following; - Revlon Colorstay foundation in 150, Buff, - Maybelline FitMe Powder in 110, Porcelain 1) CG Smoothers- 805 Fair to Light The consistency of this product is really smooth and light, more moisturising than tinting. Very light coverage, a little goes a long way, but also doesn't feel heavy on your face. I love that the color is true and doesnt oxydize. You definitely however need a setting powder to refresh every now and again. (4.5/5 stars) 2)CG Clean Matte BB Creams. It's a very dense BB cream, it's similar consistency to sunscreen, heavy. It also has a very heavy sunscreen odor to it too. However it's medium coverage and very matte—keeping your face shine free all day. It's not very blendable, and you need a lot of product. Please note: this product does oxydize and gets darker. It's more medium toned than Fair and I do not recommend it for people with dry skin (3/5 stars)

Great lightweight coverage that stays matte all day
I’ve tried so many BB creams over the years, and this one surprised me in the best way. The texture is light and blends easily with either fingers or a sponge. What stood out the most is how well it controlled shine—my T-zone usually gets oily by midday, but this formula stayed matte without looking cakey or heavy. The coverage is light to medium, but it evens out redness really well and looks very natural. It doesn’t settle into fine lines or cling to dry spots, and it wears comfortably throughout a full work shift. I also appreciate that it’s oil-free, which makes it a great option for acne-prone or combination skin. Shade matching was accurate, and it layers nicely under powder or concealer without pilling. If you want something breathable with good oil control that still gives your skin a smooth, even finish, this is a great everyday product.

Great product
I love this product. Living in humid climate , even at 60+ years with combination skin, its not overly matte, feels so comfortable on my skin and coverage is medium.

WOW!!! Never been a Covergirl fan but now I am !
In the past I have found some Covergirl products lackluster and didn't "work for me" , I normally only use drugstore brands Rimmel/Maybelline/Garnier for eyes/face products, not into contouring just a little light foundation or BB Cream/concealer and setting powder, I used to use Garnier BB cream religiously until finding a foundation by Maybelline that took its place.....Until I found this hidden gem. I was looking for a BB Cream with a MATTE finish and does this ever deliver. within minutes of it drying there was close to no shine at all, no clumps, no creasing, and covered my dark circles very well, not completely but surprisingly very well and not at all tacky *I did however go over top with setting powder however very lightly just in case it was tacky. Very impressed, as of the writing of this review I have had it on all day (9 hrs and zero touch ups needed) this will definitely be replacing my $9 Maybelline foundation. I am as the kids say now a days "SHOOK" .
