The APEC RO systems product great tasting water and out perform any systems we've had in the past (Watts and GE). The filters used in these systems are high quality and last amazingly long times. I replaced this filter well over a year ago and considering we live in the desert where drinking water is an all day thing, that's easily a few thousand gallons of use in that time frame. Easy to install and excellent quality.

Changed this filter and the membrane at the same time (along the the other three regular filter changes, of course) and the system is tasting and testing great again. Like buying a new system. Love the APEC ROs, have three installed at different homes in the family and all work great!

Some reviewers complain about the lack of a packaging bag or the soft rubber plug, but that soft rubber plug is exactly what keeps the cartridge pristine. When I removed the plug a pressurized cover gas flowed out. Purpose of the Cover Gas: The soft rubber plug and the pressurized gas found in your APEC FI-ES-TCR-QC 10" High Capacity Inline Carbon Filter serve a critical role in preserving the filter's effectiveness during storage. The pressurized cover gas, often an inert or dry gas, is used to protect the activated carbon inside the filter from prematurely adsorbing contaminants such as moisture, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and odors from the surrounding air. Activated carbon is highly porous and begins adsorbing contaminants as soon as it is exposed to air. If the carbon were exposed during storage, its adsorption capacity would be reduced before it is ever used in your water system. So, don't remove the plug until you are ready to install.

Trying all APEC water filters and after filters like this carbon and alkaline for my RO and it's all working great. Water tastes fresh and i dont perceive much different taste in the alkaline filter so overall, it just seems like everything is working well together. My system is the typical 5 state, pre sediment, 2 carbon main filters, then the membrane, then the carbon and alkaline are last. The post filters like this carbon have the easy install built into them, so no need to add the screwed in hose adapters. It just has the two plugs on each side. Pull them out, and just plug the hose in and if you have the blue horseshoe looking hose locks you can put those on each side. That was it, easy install. Will buy again.

I have been buying R.O. replacement filters for about 20 years now. Apec filters are expensive due that are advertised as made in the USA, rather than imported from China. So, I hope that is truth to justify paying about 25% more than the imported R.O. filters. My five filter, 100 GPD drinking water filter is installed under the kitchen sink. It becomes quite expensive to maintain due that we are a five adult members in the family who use the filtered water for cooking, drinking, final dishes rinsing, brushing teeth, rinsing hair and face after shower, etc, thus, the replacing of four filters and one membrane is performed quite often becoming a bit expensive, otherwise, if the filtered water is used only for drinking, then the operation of the system is affordable. There are other brands less expensive than Apec.

Fits great. Good price solution.

This brand is excelent. I have my reverse osmosis system from Apec working for at least 6 years and it keep giving me great tasting water despit the hardness of the water from the tap in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The price is very competitive as well. Filters last longer than expected. Use a ppm tester to check the quality of your water and you will know for sure when you need to change the filters.
