To clarify the points made, there are many graphs and illustrations throughout the book and for those who are interested, there are many mathematical formulas detailing various theories relating to "goal based investing" and portfolio balancing. The most interesting observation made by the author is that wealth management has progressed from the exclusive advisory for the select few UHNW (ultra-high-net-worth), to discount and online brokerage for the mass affluent and now digital wealth management comprisimg all investors from UHNW, mass-affluent as well as the average retail investor. The book is very well structured, details all the intricate aspects of digital wealth management and also gives the reader a glimpse into the future of FinTech and Robo-Advisory. Highly recommended reading for anyone interested in the future of digital investing and personal wealth management. Review: Amazing - Amazing a little bit mathematical and technical but an excellent road through roboadvisors in AI, of course it deepens in customer behavior and a LOT in innovation

A very primitive book. Why bother to write something that can be read in any amateurish article? No depth, no insight. Very unfortunate.

A good book but it didn't impress me
I am enlightened by a few points the author made in this book, such as the potential of robo-technology disintermediate ETF providers, gamification for educational purpose, and the author's in-depth coverage on goal based investing. However, I still find most of the contents in this book very familiar to me already. Another thing I like less is that certain views are expressed repeatedly in this book and the wording is not concise enough, so certain parts did not quite engage me. This is a good book for people who don't know much about robo-technology in investment and want to get an overview, but it may seem less helpful to those who already have some knowledge of robo-technology.

FinTech Innovation is prescient, direct, and full of great insight
To suggest this book is surface-level is absurd. Paolo goes into great detail about where our industry - and fintech - is going. His ideas around knowledge digitization, gamification, and the consumer revolution are all on-point. Further, Paolo paints a picture of success for how financial institutions can re-think their digital advice strategy, especially as they struggle to keep up with disruptors. Great book for anyone in the financial services space!

I have to say that the book is even better than the speech itself
I work in innovation for a big european bank. I attended a speech by the author and got very curious about the book. I have to say that the book is even better than the speech itself. This is a top reading for all people who want to understand the massive changes in the banking industry already underway, and learn the thought leader insights for the changes yet to come. Strongly recommended

Overpriced brochure.
Nothing new. All of this info (speculation really) is free on the internet. Would not recommend.

A very good read sketching the potential future of WM!
The book gives you a detailed explanation where the evolution of Robo-Advisory stands. More importantly, it gives you an understanding how banks could potentially benefit from this transition and the push from regulators. By changing their business models and sell advice instead of products. It also proves the feasibility of an intuitive representation of very complex financial analytics. Must-read book for investment managers!

FinTech is new and exciting - the next big thing in terms of the internet and business - but there's quite a lot of fluff on the market. Wiley is a premier publisher for industry specific information and this shows in this book. The coverage and analysis in this book is thorough, but by its nature ir can only really give you a grounding in the subject rather than make you a practitioner. However, it does arm you with enough information to 'spot a blagger' and is a good grounding for finance or tech people looking to move into this sector.

Great focus on both tech and financial innovation with focus on wealth management and financial planning. Although there's little math throughout all pages, not only does the book deliver you a comprehensive view on where the portfolio/asset management industry is moving to, but also gives you a well-detailed introduction of the right quant solution to get there (probabilistic scenario optimisation). Definitely a good read for both personal and business purposes.

The automation of investment advice to lower tier investors is coming. It won't be incredibly personalised, but it will be logical. The industry will change. At the moment, the investment press doesn't mention the best investments much, because the advertisers don't make any money from them, and therefore advertise the more profitable products. With robo-advisers, maybe investors won't need to reach to passive ETFs to get a low cost involvement. The book is written by a well known specialist. He has a tendency to use longer and more pompous words than neccessary. But if you need to know about this subject you will be able to get past that. Probably robo-advice will end up being presented to you as real human advice - just like those active managers who are closet trackers to make sure they don't fall too far behind their declared reference index. All we can hope is that the cost of the advice reflects the robo-element. Nice book.
