Trudeau Melamine Mixing Bowls, Set of 3

Originally purchased in June 2011 and I procrastinated writing a review until March 2019 so this is a “how’d it hold up?” review.Some things to keep in mind:1) About 4 out of the 8 years I’ve had them, I didn’t have a dishwasher so I cleaned them by hand.2) I like to bake but don’t always have room in tiny apartment kitchens; my dishes often fall on the ground or roll around on the counter when I knock them over.3) I’ve used a variety of mixing bowls and have enjoyed most of them for different reasons: wood, metal, ceramic, glass, plastic.I originally got this set thinking they looked nice but I doubted they’d last more than a couple years, if that. Surprisingly after almost 8 years, the largest and smallest ones are still around. Both still hold their vibrant colors, the rubber bottom that stabilizes them are clean, smooth, and functional, and I still use them regularly (about 1-3x’s per week) to make mostly cookie, pie, and muffin mix.I’ve dropped all of them on tile, terrazzo, and laminate floors at least a couple times a year. Unfortunately, one of the times the middle size bowl was brimming with cookie dough, I dropped it on its side onto the tile kitchen and it cracked in half. That was my fault, I over filled it with something really heavy AND dropped it on the plastic portion. If it had contacted the ground with the rubber bottom, I doubt it would have broken. I think it lasted about 6 years.

These are terrific melamine mixing bowls! This is the second set I've bought-mainly because I was careless and let the red one fall. Yes, these will break if they fall, but only into several pieces making it easy to clean up! I eat big salads and always use the red bowl for it- I just had to have another set! There is a nice rubber grip on the bottom of each of these bowls making them adhere well to a counter top surface. The bowls can be washed by hand or by top rack of dishwasher, but..do not microwave. I find myself using these bowls constantly for either baking/mixing or other. All in all, I am happy to have acquired several more of these bowls! A terrific find and reasonable price

The big bowl is very useful. We most often use it to mix salad for three or four people. We like the three stackable balls, but the truth is the large one gets used many times more than the smaller ones. I don't think the same would be true for everybody if they did a lot of cooking. Well now we will have two each of The smaller bowls and one big bowl because I dropped and knocked a hole into the big bowl. They do sell these one bowl of the time but they are actually more expensive. These are made in China. I think Origin should be required in all a lot of postings. Well someone else bought these and I broke one so I bought them and they do work very well.

Never thought I would have any strong feelings about something as simple as mixing bowls, but these are great. The bowls are the right size for a lot of different tasks, but what I like best about them is that the walls of the bowls are fairly tall. It's easy to whisk vigorously without worrying about the contacts splashing out. The pour spout is another great feature. They also come with a rubber ring on the bottom which stabilizes the bowl on the countertop while you are mixing ingredients.Just really thoughtfully designed and will likely last a really long time since they are melamine.

The blue bowl was missing the non slip ring. Contacted Trudeau and they said they don’t have parts, so go back to the vendor. I had the vendor replace the set, and the second set was also missing the non slip ring on the blue bowl. The problem seems to be Trudeau’s quality control. I am not going to return them again because I like bowls and believe that the third set will have the same problem because Trudeau appears to be discontinuing this product as it is hard to find. I have had several sets in the past, and I really like them for their size, nesting, and shape. The vendor was great. The problem is with the manufacturer.

I was surprised when I opened the box and saw how small they were, even though I read the sizes a bunch of times before I bought them. That aside, these bowls are great! I needed some smaller bowls to scramble eggs, make small batter portions, etc. anyways and these do the trick! I love the thin edges, too- I know people don't really think about that (I know I didn't), but the thin edges make really clean egg breaks, which I love. I have no idea why these people keep saying that it says microwave safe and then find out they're not. It says right on the product description that they're not suitable for that. The colors are great and I bought the set of 6 melamine bowls by the same company to match, which came broken, but that's a whole different review! I highly recommend these to people who just need every day prep mixing bowls!

These bowls are great, especially for the price. I use them constantly, wash them in the dishwasher constantly, and they have held up fantastically and look as new as the day I got them. The non-slip grips at the bottom are great and keep your bowls from scooting around while you're trying to whip, mix etc. The handle and pour spout are so handy and makes everything so much easier and more efficient. Why pay more for a set of similar bowls when you can just get these? I used to have a similar set from Crate & Barrel that was around $50, but I lost them in a break-up and didn't want to shell out another $50 if I didn't have to. I'm glad I chose these and I've recommended them to friends and family. I also ordered a set as a Xmas gift for my sister who is a baker and she loves them too.
