King David Vegan Butterscotch Chips Non-dairy Lactose Free Kosher, 8.81 Ounce (Pack of 4)

Used to make special rice crispy cereal treats for my gluten-free/dairy-free daughter and was the only butterscotch diary free option I could find. These worked and tasted great.

These treated great in my seven layer bars. No issue with them liquefying after cooking (which I was warned about)

This product arrived quickly.... I believe the seller is in NJ. This is my first time buying and baking with these chips. I'm not a huge fan -- they're very, very sweet, and I know now that I prefer chocolate chips. I added these chips to my banana muffin recipe along with some pecans, and my family loved them... so that's why I gave this product 5-stars. I bought these particular chips because they are vegan, but I didn't realize that they have artificial coloring, and for that I won't buy them again. I don't think i'll use the other 3 bags either.

As others have mentioned, these arrived melted. I expected that (it was mid-summer and I live in a desert). But I knew I would be melting these down to use in scotcheroos, which I haven't had in ~15+ years. The flavor was on point, and despite the fact that I wish I could be 1-2 bags instead of needing to purchase 4 at a time, these are the only vegan replacement I've been able to find and they are worth the money.

The chips looked like butterscotch chips. They melted like butterscotch chips. But they did NOT taste like butterscotch chips. I tasted a chip when I opened the bag and it tasted like a sugary chip. No butterscotch flavor. But I figured I'd try to give them a chance in a recipe thinking when heated up and melted, the taste would improve. It did not. I wish I could return because this was a 3 bag deal and I won't be using these chips again. It really ruined the dessert I made because it was too sweet. I'm surprised by the number of positive reviews, which is what convinced me to buy the chips to begin with.

Great product

I have gluten, dairy and nightshade food sensitivities. These butterscotch chips work great in my favorite butterscotch peanut butter candy, they melt well and are smooth with a slight (easily ignored) after taste. Unfortunately they trigger one of my food sensitivities. I suspect nightshade as sometimes paprika is used as a "natural food color"
