Q: Does the filter need to be totally submerged in water at all times to keep it wet? Or is the inch left in the top unit enough to keep the filter wet?

Hello and thank you for reaching out. It is recommended to run a cycle every day or every other day, however, the water remaining in the top should keep the filter hydrated for a few days. Just make sure to keep the top cover on in this period to hold in the moisture in the air in the upper filter chamber. I hope that information helps! :D

Q: Did anyone notice any problem with this rusting?

This unit is 100% stainless steel and does not rust. If anyone is reporting, "rust" what they are seeing is oxidized stains and is easy to fix. To remove this mix 1 tbs of baking soda in 2 cups of water. Rub the baking soda solution on the area using a scrub brush. Baking soda is non-abrasive and will gently lift the stain from the stainless steel. After this is done wipe the spot with a wet paper towel.

With one filter it takes anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to filter 2.25 gallons of water. The more filters you add the faster the flow rate will be.

You tuber wranglerstar has had one of these for 11 years and the origional filters are still working fine per hia TDS meter. I have a few extra on hand because life happens, but ive had mine for about 6 years with 1 filters, the wife and i drink about a gallon a day from the filter, and our water tastes great, with no noticeable diffference to our TDS meter. I know these tow stories are anecdotal so take it as always with a grain of salt, and the knowledge that QC standards are down across all sectors of induatry.
