Does the jack lock, mechanically with a pin etc once it is up for safety ? What prevents it from failing

The jack only provides the upwards motion for lifting the car. You must provide a Jack Stand under the car to support the car once lifted and before you work on the car. I bought this jack for my wife, and told her this one gift I hope she never has to use. Call AAA first if that fails then use the jack.

Does this comes automatically with an impact wrench or i have to buy that separately?

It depends on the set you buy. This one does come with an impact wrench.

Will this lift a Honda Civic with a flat tire?

Aloha, Yes it WILL! I have a 1 Ton Ford Utility Truck with a 10,000 GVW weight limit and a lot of materials in it. The Jack didn't hesitate lifting it up to change the tire. I was Amazed!

The sleeve's provided are too wide for the impact drill, so how can I get the sleeve to lock onto the end of the wrench?

The sleeve is double sided. The 1/2 in. socket actually rests inside the sleeve in the middle so that you can use one sleeve that has two different sizes of sockets. Push the sleeve COMPLETELY ONTO THE SHAFT .
