Heats up very quickly and maintains a stable temperature while active. Has a lower profile than my previous hotplate, an a bit more surface area, which I like; its able to hold some slightly larger pots and pans without issue. Having to learn to manage the exact temperature, but that's me, not the hotplate. All in all a very solid purchase.

I placed it on a silicone trivet. As my first test, I boiled one quart of water in a covered pan (see picture). It took nine minutes to reach boiling point set at Max. I added one cup of pasta and removed the cover while cooking so I could keep an eye on it. Pasta was perfectly cooked in the normal amount of time and the water remained at a steady boil throughout the cooking process. (Video attached). Burner surface was still at 368 degrees (see pictures) five minutes after it was turned off and unplugged and after 10 minutes it was still at 235 degrees. Obviously extreme caution is required around small children and curious pets to avoid serious contact burns. It's very lightweight and small enough to store pretty much anywhere. My first impression was positive. It performed as expected and better than I anticipated based on some of the reviews. I will update as time goes on if there are any issues to report. Update 4/26/24 - I have used this burner a few dozen times now since I bought it. I am especially pleased with its performance when making gravy. It maintains a steady simmer set on/or between power level 1 and 2. Regardless of what I'm cooking I don't notice any degradation in heat distribution after it reaches burner temperature and it cycles the burner to maintain the temperature without overheating. Foods still continue to cook exactly as they should without the need to fiddle with the heat knob. It maintains a steady simmer or boil as expected. Items brown nicely. Pasta cooks well. It has been very reliable so far. I love that I can place it on some butcher paper or old newspaper when I'm frying or sautéing and there is absolutely no mess to my countertops. Once it cools down it's so simple to clean with a damp cloth. I haven't used my induction stovetop in weeks. This little burner does such a great job and it has truly simplified my life because it's so portable I can cook on any surface. I just came back to purchase a second one for the times when I need two burners at once.

I previously used a portable stove that had an electric coil, but now decided to try this glass one. This review compares the two types. The upside of a glass stove is that it's very easy to clean. If you were cooking pasta and the water boiled over, you could just wipe the glass top with a damp sponge. However, the steel base below it gets stained easily and is more noticeable, so it depends on if that matters to you. The downside is that the glass top boils water more slowly than a coil. My old coil stove boiled a pot of water in 7 mins, while this one takes around 10 mins on max heat. (However, the coil on the coil stove deteriorates after 2 yrs of daily use. I imagine a glass stove will last much longer.) A frequent complaint is that the stove eventually pauses momentarily during cooking. When boiling a pot of water that takes 10 mins, it might stop at minute 9 and pause for 1 min. But I'm pretty sure all portable stoves do this as a safety measure to prevent overheating. (That’s why I think portable stoves are best for boiling or steaming, not pan frying.) Well here's a tip to overcome the pause. Heat a pot of water at medium-high heat. Then when it tries to take a pause, turn the dial to high and it will overcome the pause to continue heating to a boil. UPDATE: I’ve used it daily for 6 months now and it still works good for what it does. I previously said it takes 10 mins to boil, but I’ll revise that by saying it can boil in 8 mins on medium heat if there isn’t a lot of water. Yes, coil stoves are a bit faster, but they deteriorate after 2 years of daily use. This glass stove will last much longer than a coil for sure. This is a simple low cost stove that I don’t regret buying. Just don’t expect too much!

As with any portable electric two burner, or any electric stove, you gotta get used to it before you stop burning food. It just comes with the territory. Coming from using a propane stove my whole life, once I mastered this little cooktop, I was really happy with it. I've been working on a remote island and living in a small studio the past year, using this cooktop for almost everything I eat. It still looks in decent condition, whereas other brands would look like trash by now. I'm heading back home soon, and I'm sad to leave it behind. We had great times together. I recommend it to anyone. It may cost a little more than other cooktops, but it's really easy to clean, it gets hot really fast, and both sides are equally strong, which isn't always the case with these cooktops. Great value for your money, and makes your life a lot easier.

This has been a great purchase. I originally purchased it because the electric company where I live put "peak hours" in place, where you are charged a huge surcharge for using appliances during certain hours of the day. But this little burner works so great, I use it almost all the time! It heats up super quick, and cooks down really quickly as well. Just a great extra burner for every day use!!!

I’ve been using this Ovente double burner since December 2022 after trying out two other brands, and this is hands down the best one yet. It heats up fast, cooks evenly, and is perfect for my small space, it’s been a real lifesaver. Cleaning it is super easy, which I really appreciate. Over time, it may lose a bit of its functionality (one of my burners now stays on even after I turn it off, so I just make sure to unplug it after every use). Not a big deal for me, but something to note. Also, use small-medium sized pots or pans for even cooking. All in all, it’s reliable, simple to use, and worth every penny. I’d recommend it to anyone who needs an extra cooking surface or lives in a small apartment. Great investment, highly recommend!

I originally bought this to use with a glass teapot (see picture) to boil water without contacting metal. There are electric kettles out there, but they all have a metal base. You can put a glass teapot directly on it without issues. I'm now using it everyday and prefer it over my electric stove. I've never had to set the temperature dial above 3 (it goes to 5 and then Max). It keeps food warm when the setting is lower than 1. Works better than my crock pot which is too high even on low. I actually take the big bowl out of the crock pot and put it on this cooktop because it regulates the temperature better. The cooktop cycles on and off to maintain it's temperature. It's not like you can set it at 500 watts, so when it's on, it's using 1000 watts and then goes off for a period of time based on the temperature setting. If you drip something onto the ceramic top, it cleans well with some scouring powder (I use Bon-Ami). It's also light (portable) and doesn't smell like plastic when you turn it on! I had that problem with a cup warmer that I had... The problem I've had is that when the dial is in the off position, THE UNIT STILL TURNS ON if it's plugged in! This is a safety defect. The manual says to unplug the unit after use. Now I know why :/

Best burner ever. So easy to use. Lightweight and durable. This is my second one I purchased.I had my 1st one for 2 years . It still works I just got it silver my other one was black. Definitely worth the money.

Se calienta rápido, es práctica, es fácil de limpiar a menos que se te caiga y queme leche): Tiene un cordón amplio para la conexión, eso siempre es muy bueno. Es muy linda y definitivamente la recomiendo mucho, vale cada peso!

I like that it’s small enough and does not take up too much space. Easy to clean, it heats up well enough for my preferences and does not burn the food. So far so good, the quality seems fine.

Si necesitas una parrilla donde no haya gas o sea más complicado ponerlo, esta parrilla es superior a las comunes eléctricas de resistencia, calienta mejor alcaza inclusive a levantar la presion de una olla express, es más estable su temperatura, es mucho más fácil de limpiar pues su resistencia está bajo el 'vidrio' y la apariencia es de calidad. Ya tengo más o menos un año de uso frecuente con ella, que es más de lo que duran las más básicas. En resumen por poco dinero más un mucho mejor electrodoméstico. Vuelvo a comprar 10/10
