Outstanding!
Everything about this play should be sad --a woman plagued by the apparition of her husband, lost in the September 11th attacks-- but when you get to page 2, you're laughing out loud. This isn't a tragedy. It's not even a sad story. It's a humorous catharsis. It's Thanksgiving dinner with an insane family that somehow seems perfectly sane.I devoured this play: its sharp wit, its charming, yet sometimes surly characters, and its writing that is honest to goodness poetry. Writing that makes you want to read and re-read the lines so you can enjoy them again. I loved "Jericho" and will definitely be recommending it to my friends.

Let's hear it for the goy!
Gevalt! It's rare that a (presumably) Gentile author evinces such insight into the Jewish-American experience. In this terse, nervy, unflinchingly honest play, Canfora limns the post-9/11 experience of his brittle, damaged characters to impressive dramatic effect. The dialogue crackles, with speeches that call to mind Pinter lathered with a schmear of vintage Woody Allen. Jericho? I say Jeri-GO...see this if a production is mounted near you.

What a fantastic play!
I saw this play at 59E59 Theaters in New York City and absolutely loved it! The characters are strong and the story is so real. For an actor, it has really great monologues, lots of pairs scenes, and lots of great scenes in general. Jack Canfora knows what he is doing! I am very excited to see what he has in store for us next!

Five Stars
Amazing un-peeling of modern America by one of our county's best playwrights.

Interesting but less than thrilling
Although this play deals with a combination of plot situations, some of which are unusual and some of which are fairly standard fare, I couldn't get involved or really care about any of the characters. And having her psychiatrist and the memory of her husband played by the same actor just seemed to me a gimmick.
