Grover's new Vintage machine uses a die-cast, two-piece housing for additional strength and precision. The unique bearing surface in the housing provides a rigid string post enhancing the alignment of the gear and worm. The 14:1 gear ratio provides for fine tuning. I was disappointed with the original Gibson Deluxe tuner functionality. Basically, these tuner sets are identical except for the word Grover vs. Gibson and the shade of the keystone buttons. Looking at the Gibson buttons, they are slightly transparent, you can see a hint of the gear stem and it is slightly browner than the Grovers. The Grover buttons are completely opaque and slightly greener than the Gibsons. Both sets weighed the same at 6.7 ozs. These observations suggest both sets of machine heads are made at the same manufacturer in Taiwan, as noted on the Grover package. Top quality, fair price.

Direct replacement for Japan vintage Greco Les Paul

Great replacement for my Gibson SG Junior
Installed a set of vintage-style tulip keystone tuners on my Gibson SG Junior. I know they’re not era-correct for this particular model, but aesthetically I’ve always preferred the classic Gibson tulip look. For me, the visual upgrade alone was worth it. Fitment was excellent — completely drop-in. No drilling, no reaming, no modification required. They lined up perfectly with the existing holes and bushings. Tuning action feels smooth and consistent with no noticeable backlash. Tension feels very similar to the stock Gibson tuners. So far, stability and durability seem on par with the originals. If long-term wear becomes an issue I can always reinstall the factory set, but at this point I don’t see that happening. For the price, these are outstanding value.

Having read the reviews and with a loose /damaged Gibson original I took the plunge and bought these. Excellent and fitted perfectly ....very easy as a direct replacement.
