Instead of having the regular rod with the purchase of the kit can I have a metric one?

This is a kit put together by Bosch. The rod only comes in feet and inches.

I have a bosch gol26 which seems to work fine, but when i tilt it backwards and forwards it rattles. is that normal or did i get a defective one?
