what are the bristles made of SPECIFICALLY?

Hello Ms. Davis,The bristles are DEFINITELY NOT BOAR BRISTLES! Because there are multiple vendors selling this brush, we do not have full control over the listing and a few months ago the vendor that does changed the title to BOAR BRISTLE BODY BRUSH which is a complete lie. We have protested to Amazon.com but they have refused our request to have this corrected.The brush is actually made with 'Palm Bristles' which are completely vegan and natural. We know this because we work directly with the manufacturer and are the actual importer of the brush. U.S. customs forces us to declare the type of wood its made of (pine) and what the bristles are made of (Palm Bristles). I hope this helps...Marc W. - Natural Bath & Body Shop

Can this brush get wet/be used in the shower if I want?

That's how I used it, but it fell apart very quickly. I tried a similar brush, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GBMQAGE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, and so far it's holding up much better.

Does this brush have really soft bristles? Looking for something fairly similar to a baby brush but slightly stiffer for hubby's near-bald pate.

It's not as soft as a baby brush, but it's not as stiff as an adult hair brush. I use it for dry brushing my skin, and it's perfect for it. Unless you're husband's skin is highly sensitive, I believe it would be a good brush for stimulating skin on scalp. To help give you more info, I brushed my hair/scalp with it, and it felt good on my scalp. Hope that helps with your choice!
