Is this ball really that terrible?! I have watched 10+ kids at parks throw themselves on it etc. Any one had it for longer than 6 months?

Mine lasted less than a week... got a replacement one and They played with it for 2-3 hours inside.... woke up this morning and the ball is about 1 foot wide; no visible hole but air leaked out. My son who is 60 pounds was sitting and laying on it but he watched videos of garage doors and elephants standing on it so thought it was indestructible and started playing with it rougher. If all you do is bounce and hit it like a ball it migh last 6 months.

Why does it need batteries?

It doesn’t unless you buy the one with pump. I just use my air compressor

Can this ball be deflated after it's been blown up for easy storage/packing and then blown up again?

Absolutely! You can inflate and deflate as many times as needed. We inflate our balls and leave them that way. Our balls do not shrink and have lasted for a long time with indoor/outdoor play even in cold weather. (36 degrees) just after storm Stella finally melted.

Don’t play with it inside either.. my son (4 YO) popped his in less than one day. After reading reviews I purposely under inflated his, as well.
