Great starter CO2 kit, but I eventually upgraded
I'd rate this 5/5 for what it is. I don’t use it anymore because I upgraded to a full CO2 tank setup (which is way less maintenance long-term), but this kit was such a good introduction into CO2 for me. What I really liked is that it comes with basically everything you need to get started, which made the whole process way less intimidating. When you’re new to CO2, it can feel really confusing (like figuring out bubble rates, diffusion, etc.), and this kit helped me actually understand how everything works. The instructions were clear enough, and as long as you set it up correctly, it does work well. It comes with tubing and a diffuser (no CO2 indicator, but that wasn’t a big deal for me). The quality of the materials is actually pretty solid too (no leaks if done properly!) I still use some of the Criscea parts in my current setup like the bubble counter, tubing, inline checker, and diffuser, and they’ve all held up for almost 6 months now with no issues. So even after upgrading, parts of this kit are still useful, which I appreciate. The main downside (and the reason I switched) is just the maintenance that comes with DIY CO2 systems. It’s not bad, but it does require more attention compared to a standard CO2 tank. Once I got more into aquascaping, I just wanted something more consistent and lower effort. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this if you have a smaller tank, are on a budget, or just want to learn CO2 before committing to a full system. It’s also a really good learning tool (honestly could even be fun for a kid or beginner who wants to understand how planted tanks work). Great cheap starter kit that actually helped me level up my setup.

Really solid set up for the money
So far ao good been two weeks now after getting the system, easy startup and tuning. I have this on a kasa smart outlet set to a timer and has run with zero issues. Would recommend using glycerin in the bubble counter vs water. Two reasons for this, you dont have to top the glycerin off as it does not evaporate, and two its easier to count your bubbles and fine tune it, added bonus it looks cool. Set up is straight forward, mixing easy just layer material and pre cool a 2 liter jug of water the night before and add some ice 1 hour before adding and keep it in the fridge. 2 weeks at 1.75-2 bubbles per second on a 20 gallon planted tank seems to be the sweet spot considering my plant load everything grows at a marked accelerated rate. All components are solid, tank is of good quality and safety vave ( blow out ) is a nice feature. Good set up that won't break the bank to up your game to a "high tech" tank. Very happy with this system.

Buy your own accessories
The tank and concept are great, however the regulator and accessories are disasters. The bubbles per second you get from the regulator vary by almost 50% left and right of what you set it to at any given moment. I think I'll be turning the co2 system off while on vacation. The co2 resistant tubing is resistant to everything i try to do. It's a tight spiral slinky despite all of my efforts. I filled and soaked the tubing in hot tap water and tried to stretch it, but it just coils back up like a spring. Speaking of soaking, for some reason there's instructions to disassemble the relay switch and soak several of its parts in alcohol for an undisclosed amount of time. It gives you nice tools to take it apart, but putting it back together is a nightmare of bloody finger tips. The system seems to work, but I'm real nervous it's gonna kill everything in my tank. (Update and added a video) I've changed my review to 1 star. The shut off relay broke the first night I left it alone. I woke up to the ph indicator saying there was an issue in my fish tank and when I checked things out I found the relay wouldn't shut the co2 off even when unplugged.

Works very well and looks to be made with high quality components
I can't believe how long I was using the dumb old yeast+sugar reactors all these years. Never again! The measured citric acid + baking soda in a pressurized tank provides a consistent yield with no guesswork anymore and total control over the process (counting bubbles). I used the 2.4L tank for a week+ and it is working very well and the pressure has stayed consistent in tank at 20+ so I think it will last a while for my 29 gal. Getting the solenoid version was a plus as it can be turned on and off in timer with the lights. It did develop a leak in the bubble counter after a few days, and I found I was missing an o-ring (not sure if I lost it or it was never there) but the SERVICE group for Clscea company was great and came up with a replacement for it. So rest assured they support their products. The other accessories (tubing, one-way valve, diffuser) all work fine and look to be good quality.

Better Than I'd Expected & Well Worth it!
I only recently sent for another one of these after owning one for a few years. I'm now sending it back, but not because there's anything wrong with it! I never opened it before realizing I simply didn't need another one right now. However, I will say these are *great* little DIY systems, & I'd recommend them to anyone wanting co2 for their aquariums without buying the "usual" tank & regulator, plus needing to take it to be refilled with co2 when it runs out. Even if you do have such a system, this clsea set-up would be great to have as a back up for when you run out of co2. Mine starts building pressure *immediately* & is ready to use (in my experience) within 12 hours or less. Below is what showed up as a review I never completed from - ? - at least 2 yrs ago. It popped up when I was going to review the 2nd one just bought, so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to go back that far when reviewing. I'd completely forgotten that I'd begun a review so long ago: I'd done DIY co2 already with the big soda bottles & all that jazz. I was never a fan of the yeast/sugar mixtures, so had done them with baking soda/citric acid. One time a bottle blew up. Yikes! The main problem was that they just ran out too quickly & I'm too lazy to keep up with them, so I'd just gone low-tech for a long time. Then I bought some high-tech plants, & had only a single co2 tank, so thought I'd give this one a try. Once I finally got around to putting this one into action, at first I was irritated with the instructions & the bad grammar, etc. That's just typical of me, though, as it's also typical of products made outside the U.S.A. It seems like they could at least get English-as-1st-language interpreters to edit their lame instructions. The ad descriptions, manual & videos are even amusingly lame, but they do show enough to get the gist. However, the quality of the stainless tank & attachments is really as advertised. Well-made! I docked a single star mainly due to the one thing that isn't made all that well IMO: the solenoid valve is flimsy, especially the way the wires are attached. I'm not crazy about the diffuser, either, but that's a minor issue. I've had this up & running now for more than 3 months in a smaller (25G) aquarium, & it's still putting out the co2 like a champ. I did replace the diffuser with a whittled chopstick end placed to pull into a wavemaker to blow the co2 around the aquarium better. It's great how long it's lasted, & the pressure in the tank is still pretty high. With the old (pop bottle) DIY system, I think I had to change it out every few weeks or so. (Not to mention that exploding bottle experience. I'm still coming across crusted baking soda spots here & there.) All in all, it was a good buy & worth it. Recent update: I've learned that staggering the dry ingredients (1/3 citric acid, 1/3 baking soda, repeat) seems to keep it from bubbling out too soon. Also, I put ice cubes in the water & keep it in the fridge until ready to add it. Have to make sure you have 600 ml. after removing the ice cubes. Otherwise, following the directions that are right on the bottle's top works well. It is definitely a good idea to tilt the bottle about 45 degrees to pour in the water, & to do it quickly enough to prevent the reaction from bubbling out before you have time to get the regulator lid on. And do be ready to put it on immediately. The tank I bought a few years ago still looks and works like new. A warning: Don't try to clean the solenoid as recommended in their manual!!! If the instructions don't also tell you how to reassemble it, take that as a red flag/bad omen. I thought I'd try it once, & it took a long time for me to figure out how to get those tiny clips back on. I ended up using a little magnet to hold them in place & then push them down with a blade, but even then it was difficult to do. I used a small rubber band to hold the pieces together. Thing is, the solenoid didn't need cleaning at all once I got into it! I'd rather pay for a new solenoid than go to all that trouble again!

solenoid valve gets clogged and requires frequent maintenance
first batch of baking soda + citric acid went perfectly. second batch clogged up my solenoid valve so it wouldn't shut off on timmer. emailed cust service. they gave me video to watch instructing how to service solenoid. followed the instructions, cleaned throughly, still didn't work. cleaned it a second time, still nothing. emailed back cust support and they told me to buy another solenoid for $20. so make sure you budget an extra $20 every time you refill, just in case.

It's perfect
I read the reviews and was kind of worried about the purchase and leaking parts set it up on a old used fish tank which eventually started to leak. so I emptied my fish tank and recaulked it and in the process I knocked this co2 tank off my dresser so about 3 foot, it landed straight upside down off the concrete floor. I had to bend back the glass piece bubble counter is was really crooked. I was freaking out that I just broke it after all the reviews I read no way this is about to work or work and not leak, but I was wrong it still works good and not leaking I can't believe it.i first layered the ingredients 100grams a layer using my food scale and it started building pressure instantly after adding water and screwing on the lid I'm really happy with this product. Especially with its durability. Some parts do seem kinda fragile so be careful but nothing actually broke in during my accident so obviously the stuff isn't that cheaply made.

Great CO2 kit for a newbie like me!
I purchased this CO2 generator kit for a planted 10 gallon freshwater aquarium. It is my first experience with CO2 injection and I'm very happy about my purchase. The ingredients are easy to find, and relatively cheap compared to disposable CO2 cartridges or a full size CO2 bottle setup. The regulator is basic, but works well. Il like the fact that the selenoid and bubble counter are just one part. Feels less wobbly than having two seperate parts. The only con was the needle valve. It is very sensitive and can sometines be difficult to adjust exactly. I recommend this kit, specially for smaller tanks 20G or less.

Muy bien systema de CO2.
Llego el equipo completo como dice anuncio. Preparé la mezcla como indica la instrucción en el cilindro. Esta funcionando conectado a un temporizador que compré aparte. Regulado a 1 burbuja x segundo. 2 semanas ahora conectado y se mantiene la presión. Solenoide trabaja bien. El resultado en las fotos. Así se inició, y ahora las plantas después de 2 semanas de uso. Muy bien crecimiento de las plantas. Muy contento con la compra.
