Dream come true for minimalists
This monitor has exactly one input connection - USB C. It powers the monitor, and does the double duty of accepting the video signal. I absolutely love that it requires no separate power cable. It weighs less than 3 pounds, comes with a slick protective case, outputs 1080p 60hz, and has a ton of display options to boot. As an amazing bonus, the back of the monitor has a 1/4" threaded mounting hole compatible with tripod style stands/arms. It's a dream come true for the minimalist who likes to travel light and keep cables to a minimum. Some caveats you'll have to accept about this monitor: 1) It's a USB display, and accepts 2 different modes: DP alt mode (USB-C to USB-C from a compatible source like thunderbolt), or USB-A to USB-C using a DisplayLink driver. It's not exactly plug and play, unless you're using the right source devices. For example, ChromeOS is fully compatible with both video modes out of the box, no driver downloads required. Base Linux only works with DP alt mode (supposedly there are DisplayLink drivers for Linux, but I was never able to get them working). Windows works with both modes, but requires a driver download if using USB-A to USB-C with DisplayLink. 2) Not every USB-C output port is the same!! This is a lesson I learned specifically from owning this monitor. Thunderbolt ports, and most laptop USB-C ports, will output the native DP alt mode signal required by this monitor. However, a basic USB-C output from your desktop PC is not a thunderbolt port, and will not work with this monitor. In the case of most desktop PCs you'll need to use the 2nd option I described above with DisplayLink drivers. 3) Using multiple of these monitors simultaneously is very finnicky. Especially if using DisplayLink driver mode. I spent more time than I'd like to admit attempting to get 2 of these working from a powered USB hub on my monitor which then connects to my desktop through USB-A and laptop through USB-C. It was a nightmare. One of them would always either turn on and off (not enough power for 2 monitors), or if I got it working the mouse movement was super janky. I ended up changing my goals and using only 1 of these, which works great. 4) Do not buy these for gaming. They are simply not intended for that usage, and you'll notice input lag. These are really intended as "productivity monitors", and not as your MAIN monitor. All of that being said, even with the major troubleshooting issues I described above, I absolutely love these and would recommend 100% for people looking for a minimalist, portable, productivity monitor. There aren't many on the market which are fully powered by USB, and in that niche market you won't find a better solution than this one. I've had 2 of these for a couple years now, and they're still going strong even after travelling on flights with me multiple times. Great little monitors.

Great Second Screen Option
I purchased the screen as a second screen. Itโs lightweight and easy to use. It is efficient, but do not expect a crystal clear picture. The picture is clear, but not 4k clear.

If you work on a laptop and mobile. This is a need, not a want.
Love it, plug and play. Nice carry case that protects it in my backpack. Dependable.

Great for working in bed or away from home!
I bought this before having abdominal surgery, so I could work from home in bed. (Also justified purchasing an adjustable bed, haha!) This helped so much! Because the stand is the width of the monitor, it stands up well on the bed or your lap, even if the surface is uneven or plush, like blankets. Sometimes I set both my laptop and this monitor on a wooden lap table--the table wasn't quite wide enough for both, so I just positioned the portable monitor slightly behind the laptop and used one side of it. And sometimes I used my computer directly on my lap, setting the portable off to the side on the bed next to me. It stands up really well as-is (the optional stand wouldn't work well on uneven surfaces). I also pack this for long trips sometimes, in case I want to edit the photos and videos I've been taking. It's nice to have the extra monitor for that. It's also good to have the extra monitor in countries where I don't speak the language--that way, I can do stuff on one screen and watch Netflix/Prime/whatever on the other. :-) The picture quality is good. It's not up there with my expensive laptop, but I don't expect it to be at this price. Colors aren't quite as brilliant and textures aren't quite as sharp. But I have no problem whatsoever using it for gaming, and text looks good on it. I wouldn't even notice the slightly reduced picture quality if it weren't sitting right next to my gaming laptop. I just wouldn't recommend it for high-level graphic designers, obviously. VERY lightweight and thin! The protective case is like an envelope, so packing it takes about as much room as a paper folder would. I set it against my laptop in the laptop sleeve of my bag. It doesn't weight much. My favorite part is that this doesn't need a power cord! You just attach it to your laptop with a USB-C, and that's it--no extra cords to mess with or pack. Very happy with this purchase, and I've recommended this model to several other people. I've also always had great luck with Asus computers.

Very good travel monitor with excellent versatility
It certainly met my expectations. Picture quality is satisfactory, especially for a travel monitor. It certainly isnโt OLED quality, but it doesnโt have glare, is very easy to set up and is very versatile. Not needing a separate power adapter is an excellent feature for minimizing travel weight.

Asus has no Equal for the Money
Asus is my main stay tech product. This monitor is no exception. I use this monitor as I travel from one side of the USA to the other side. Durable, great resolution and features. Its light & works off my laptop, I even use it in bed. If you needed a monitor like this, I recommend you try this one. You won't be disappointed.

Very weak hinge design - failed - ASUS refused warranty
The screen sharpness is fine, but the colors are way off. Would require major adjustments to get colors even close. It's also a bit dim. After using about 6 times, one of the two hinges stayed stuck in the screen and snapped off the plastic back. I was extremely gentle with this thing because that design looked weak from day one. I contacted Asus about it - after several back and forths - never getting the same support person - definitely broken English and never same day - responses from everyone clearly in a different time zone always (received 2-5 AM EDT) - and they screwed up a few times trying to give me my RMA email. They paid to ship it to their California repair center where I was presented with a quote for +$175 for repairs. Not covered by warranty because "customer induced damage". Obviously, I'm not going to pay that, so I got a stupid tablet stand for it now or I use the tripod mount for attaching it. I bought the Asus brand name because I thought they would stand behind their product but - BUYER BEWARE. This thing isn't any better than the $100 screens so save your extra cash and buy one of them - this warranty is useless anyway. Now if I actually do have a warrantable issue, it will be denied because the item has some "customer induced damage" from using the product as you normally would. Very convenient for them and very anti-consumer. I will no longer purchase this brand and I will be advocating against it wherever possible. As soon as I get it back, it's going to eBay.

Using it straight out of the box!
It does exactly as stated. Clear high quality screen that helps with portability straight plug and play and easy to use. Definitely a great product. Hope it last!

I am happy with it.
Notice - I do not game or watch movies, or TV. I only use YouTube for watching fix it videos. So, I have no idea what quality some people are looking for. What I do know is that this little monitor is a dynamite little screen for my purposes. The picture is excellent! The size is astonishingly small and it is as light as a feather. As always, I am satisfied with Asus. They have never let me down yet, and I have been with them for a long time. The price is one of those things that must be considered. I feel it could be a little cheaper, but I am not feeling this is a jip either. For me, it is good value and a solid product. It even comes with a nice little protective case that is leagues better than the one I ordered just for this. It hooks up easy and just works. My phone can even run it too, though it drains the battery pretty quick (Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 8). The USB C feature is just what I needed and adapting a charing brick in-line with the phone was simple. Just needed an adapter ($10) but now it all runs smoothly. I think most people will be very happy with it too. I am hoping that in the future a wireless, touchscreen model with its own battery pack will become available. Even if wireless isn't an option, a touchscreen with battery would be game changing. Overall, I say go for it. I am pleased and glad I did.

Not compatible as a 2nd monitor
To be honest, I was disappointed in this. I thought itโs gonna be the perfect choice as a 2nd monitor for my gaming PC. The monitor will not connect to the PC if you have a monitor plugged into your graphics card. The monitor can only be plugged in the motherboard. I have bought another cable to transfer the type-C into HDMI but the monitor will not connect at all. Trust me fellas, I have tried every possible way to connect but didnโt succeed.
