Chalkboard Set 24x18 in, Framed Magnetic Slate Chalk Board with Chalk

Perfect chalk board suitable for any age. Chalk board is lightweight and magnetic. The tray is large enough to house 8+ pieces of chalk. I love the fact that the eraser is magnetic and stays in place on the board. The chalk board itself is of sturdy design and easy to install with its attached hooks for hanging. Great product, great price!

Perfect medium size and Includes colored chalk, chalkboard ledge, magnets and even a magnetic eraser! Everything you need to help with Algebra review and listing elements of Periodic Table! Very practical for students of all ages. And useful for grocery lists and little artists, too... Highly recommend this easy-to-use, hang, and clean blackboard.

Perfect for the great grandkids they use it all the time. It’s sturdy and can take little ones carrying it all over the house. Only thing I would say is the chalk that comes with it. It’s way too small, not lengthwise but around even while you’re trying to take it out of the package it all breaks up into small pieces and up due on it would be to do a little bit bigger size chalk.

Amazon's review system is great way to figure out before hand, if the product is worth the usual company product hype. There will be fake reviews. Glowing ones from friends, workers and family, and Bad ones from the competition. I live in Hawaii, so I was concerned not only about the sturdiness of this Chalk board, but the Shipping! Will it arrive all bent? NOPE! it arrived perfectly protected! Even the chalk arrived intact! And it was quite sturdy for the low price! Also, I was thinking that a coated metal surface would feel fake. Like I'm writing on an imitation chalk board. I wanted to use REAL chalk, and have the same old school experience. This was important to me, because what do today's young business people and manufacturers know about REAL chalkboards. Everybody uses Whiteboards and erasable markers. Besides these new metal, coated things. I imagined writing on a slippery, shiney surface. Well, after hanging it on the wall, I took the chalk, and it had the same drag across the surface as an old time chalk board! Wow! I'm very pleased! I use it for Photographer's to do list, instead of piling up little papers everywhere. There are many workflow phases to being a photographer, with it's deadlines. I can note, and then erase when I finish each process. And it looks Kewel! I recommend this Chalkboard set!

Recently I starting taking care of a little girl in my home and I wanted to find a sturdy chalkboard that was also magnetic. I wanted to help teach her the ABCs and was looking for a magnetic chalkboard so that I could give her some magnetic letters that she could attach to the board as I would tell her what each letter was. I also wanted a chalkboard so that I could help her learn to draw the letters of the alphabet with the chalk, as well as draw smiley faces, dogs, cats, etc.. Personally I feel this chalkboard is priced a little too high, but other than that, I am very pleased with my purchase! This chalkboard by Navy Penguin has a nice, sturdy, heavy aluminum frame and it has smooth rounded edges. It's nice that there is a built in ledge to keep the pieces of chalk on, and the fact that the eraser is also magnetic, should hopefully mean that the eraser will not disappear very easily! I also like the fact that the hooks are movable so that you can adjust the hanging distance. FYI: In case you're interested in purchasing this well made chalkboard, please know that it must be mounted to your wall and does not adhere to a metal surface with magnets. Please also note that in spite of the fact that the description says that this chalkboard set "contains 14 colored crayons," they are not crayons, but instead they are 14 pieces of chalk. A few of the pieces of chalk were slightly cracked, but I was going to crack them in half any how because they were too big for her little hand in their full size form. This chalkboard is the perfect size (24x18 in.), and as long as you remove the protective plastic covering using a razor blade along the seams of the chalkboard, the chalk writes very easily on the board as you can see from my photo for this review. Thank you, Navy Penguin, for a nice quality chalkboard!

This chalkboard can be used straight out of the box, no seasoning needed. I tested a small area with the white chalk provided with the board, and the texture was smooth and “just right.” No squeaking chalk. I erased number two on the list to test for ghosting. The chalk came off easily. Hard to explain, but if you loved chalkboards as a child, this will take you back.

Bought this for school and it looks great and sturdy in my room. My only complaint which is minor and not worth knocking a star is the chalk. One of the packs of chalk were almost all broken right out the packaging and I don’t really like the quality of the chalk. Doesn’t really bother me since I won’t use colored chalk often and I already have my own brand that I buy. The eraser works well enough and the magnets are useful . Overall I love the board and well worth the money.

Works fine though the method of hanging (hooks) is actually not really stable enough to write on freely. It shifts as you write unless you hold it steady with your off-hand. Some different, more rigid hanging hardware would be smart. Otherwise as advertised.
