Air Monitor Lite, Apple HomeKit Compatible Wi-Fi Indoor Air Quality Meter Detects Home CO2, PM2.5, PM10, Temperature, and Humidity

EDIT 11 months after purchase: About 10 days ago you can see the temps slowly starting to rise. It became warm to the touch, and it seems obvious that the internal fan has failed. I've set a temp offset of -10 degrees to correct the reading, but the warmth worries me and it's not trivial to disassemble and fix according to the teardowns online. A shame - otherwise a very nice little gizmo.It's small, quiet, and seems quite accurate - comparing to Ambient Weather AQIN and Hydrofarm APCEM2 Autopilot, CO2 readings are consistent. Setup was easy (iOS and Apple Home), and it's just a delightful little gizmo, so cute! Small annoyances: No Alexa or Google Home integration (yet, I hope! QingPing, make this thing work with Alexa and it would be perfect!), and "screen saver" display is a little too much motion for something that sits on your desk, it's a little distracting. I've positioned it behind a monitor in a way so that I have to move my head a little to see it. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this air quality sensor. I cannot speak to how precisely calibrated it is, but it has still been very useful in practice. I have been able to get my room down to zero PM2.5, and having visibility into particulate levels has been reassuring.The CO2 and humidity tracking have been especially helpful. I noticed my clothes were not drying properly, which I probably would have ignored in the past, but the sensor showed humidity around 80 percent, which explained the issue immediately. I was also surprised by how high CO2 levels were getting in my room. I had been focused on air quality but not really thinking about CO2 buildup.With the door closed overnight, I saw CO2 levels climbing close to 2,000 ppm. When my girlfriend is in the room as well, it has gone over 3,000 ppm, which is clearly not ideal. That insight alone has changed my behavior. I now keep the window cracked open two to three inches instead of just a tiny gap, even when it is cold, and it has made a noticeable difference.My only real complaint is charging reliability. Occasionally it seems like it is not charging and will turn off. Unplugging and plugging it back in usually fixes the issue, and it does show that it is charging afterward. I am hoping this is just a minor quirk or user error, but it is something to be aware of.Despite that, this sensor has been very helpful in understanding my indoor environment and making practical changes to improve air quality and ventilation.

I purchased three of these for use in different rooms. Two of the three had visibly been opened despite being sold as new by the Qingping store. There were a couple of hairs under the protective temporary film for one of them, and two were missing the smaller of the two pieces of temporary protective film that covers the back of the unit. Two were also already configured for somebody else's wi-fi network.The idea of a multi-sensor HomeKit appliance with a big OLED display sounds so good. But the execution is flawed.1. It fails at its most important task: Providing accurate readings. The humidity reading is consistently off compared to the three other humidity meters I have. I can line them all up and the QingPing always has anomalous readings by as much as 15%. The temperature reading is off, but only by a couple of degrees. I don't know how to assess the CO2 accuracy, but I have seen it as low as 418, which is about the ambient CO2 level in all rural areas.2. The display is wasted. It has different views, but nothing that shows all readings at once. You have to cycle through manually, or configure it for automatic cycling. There's enough display density that it could have shown everything. With single readings, a boxy, thin, LCD-like font is used that makes it difficult to view at a distance despite the bright display.3. The HomeKit integration is half-baked. Enabling HomeKit mode disables all of the configuration options. For example, the display cannot be changed from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Notifications can't be enabled. The app can't even show graph results. To take advantage of the app features, the device must be reset and configured for QingPing's proprietary mode, which disables HomeKit.4. The app support is confusing. It links to two different apps in the manual, the first of which doesn't appear to link with the device in the USA. The second is flakey, routinely forgetting about registered devices, or not finding them on the network.Unfortunately, I don't know of another product that claims to have all of these sensors along with HomeKit compatibility. For now, the alternative is having at least two other devices, or going without either the CO2 or the PM2.5 and PM5 readings.

I really wanted to like this. As far as WiFi, each unit I got took numerous tries before completing setup. After this okay everything looks okay and is up and running.Then occassionally they will lose their Homekit connectivity. I have a very large house so that might be it. But it happens to every unit I have (6). Early on, I would reset and go through setup again just to get them back in Apple Home, but then at some point I just gave up and put off trying to figure it out. Then I noticed that the units would reconnect on their own. Okay great, but no, it works...sometimes. Doesn't work other times. Daily 4 out of the 6 are usually offline. Occassionally I'll get all 6, but there is no consistency.Switching to Aqara FP300 for the temp/humidity. The other data, I'll just wait for something else in the future.If you don't need this to be online at all, I guess it's fine, but way overpriced for what it does.

I really love having this around, but it’s very bright at night and there’s no way to control the screen display state in HomeKit = 3 stars for me.I would rate it 1 or 2 stars bc I'm upset at the lack of basic controls for the built-in display, but I am trying to balance the pros and cons in my reviews, and, overall, I would say I am actually pretty happy with the little device.Knowing the air quality and CO2 levels has been a game changer in my bedroom. I recently discovered that if I leave my bedroom’s door closed for an hour with my house’s AC off and windows closed, the CO2 level rises to almost 1500 within an hour! It’s such a quality of life improvement to know if my tiredness is just because I’m tired or because I haven’t opened my window in too long. It just feels so much better to know. Super worth it purchase for that peace of mind alone.That being said, you can buy other CO2 monitors for much cheaper, so let’s talk about the standout feature here: HomeKit. How does it interface and what can you control?Setting it up was pretty nice. I didn't have to download a 3rd party app or anything, just went straight into the Home app on iOS. (I did eventually download their app though, because it has some nice features actually, and when I did, the sensor was automatically detected. Didn't have to re-add it to the app or anything).Each sensor feeds data to my room's status. HomeKit doesn't give exact values for everything, so be aware of that. Right now, I see: Temperature: 70°, Humidity: 46%, Air Quality: Excellent (if you tap to expand the menu for Air Quality, it shows you the actual readings from the PM2.5 & PM10 sensors in μg/m^3), and Carbon Dioxide: Sensor (idk why, but it literally just says "Sensor" under the Carbon Dioxide status in HomeKit. Likely an Apple thing). If you open the CO2 sensor page, it will show you the reading in ppm though as well as a "detected" status, which I presume activates over a certain reading.In each of the menus associated with the sensor, it also shows you the Battery Level, Charging (status), and Status Active.SO, it has lots of outputs feeding to HomeKit, but what are its HomeKit smart home inputs? Can you use HomeKit to change which reading is displaying on the sensor's built-in display? Can you use HomeKit to turn off the display (for example with an automantion that activates when you leave your house or turn off all your lights)? Can you change the brightness of the display? Turn the device on or off?.... No.You can't control anything on the device from HomeKit. It's only an output machine. I would be totally fine with that if there was ANY way to adjust the built-in display's brightness, but you cannot (not even in their QingPing app). It's super bright at night, which is pretty annoying. It is possible to use the QingPing+ app to program a time range to turn off the display, so I have it turn off just before my usual bed time and just before I wake up. But I don't go to sleep or wake up at the exact same minute every day, so I find myself frequently both 1) checking a black display bc it's off AND 2) being woken up at 6 am on the weekends to a bright display.That being said, these are all things that SHOULD be possible to implement with a software update, so if any of these features get added, I'll definitely come back here and change my review right away. (if you are the developer, PLEASE implement these features!)I have no comments on it’s accuracy because I have no way to double check it’s readings, but to me it doesn’t matter too much as long as it’s giving me generally useful information.So, in summary, it's great to have the data & HomeKit integration, but the display needs to have more controls.

I've bought two of these units recently to place in my living room and bedroom. Both units required calibration for RH, and after CO2 calibration one was reading 8% higher than the other. But after adjusting the calibration offset in the app, both are giving the same readings consistently. I like that all of the sensors can be calibrated to known sources, and the CO2 sensor can be manually or automatically calibrated. You can also do firmware updates and customize just about every possible setting and configuration in the app, as well as track trends and get notifications for sensor data if you'd like. The only thing I wish could be more customized is maybe the screen saver so I could choose which data it rotates through rather than having to choose between all of the data or just one data point. Overall I am really liking this unit. It's small and easily placed just about anywhere, the app is great once you play around with it a bit, and being able to look in on your monitors when you're away from home is great. Keep up the great work Qingping!

This works great and lets you know the CO2 level at all times. Highly recommended!

Connected easily to Apple Home, the main thing that I was looking for out of this device was the carbon monoxide detector and while that information is available it is not able to be displayed by default in Apple Home, you have to go into the the room the device is located inside Apple Home and specifically select the carbon monoxide sensor to see the current level. You can get automatic alerts if the level gets too high but if you are just monitoring it is not as easy as I would like.

I got it after long research, Qingping were recommended for precision back then, I am happy with it.Easy to setup and use.Only works around 20-30 minutes unplugged but long enough to calibrate it outside.

I was in the market for something HomeKit compatible to replace the two different devices I was using to monitor air quality and to consolidate them into one .I was a little bit hesitant to order because the reviews were a bit mixed but the moment I opened the package I was very very happy. The initial impression is very good and when I plugged it in, it started working right away and within a short time the values were reasonably consistent with other similar devices I have. At first, it wouldn’t pair with HomeKit but I followed the instructions to reset the network settings and the pairing went perfectly the second time. Since then, it has worked flawlessly. I love the Homekit integration and the ability to use Siri to query for the different values. The only thing I think which could be improved is the native app for the device. It works fine but it’s a bit bare-bones and not very visually appealing. Other than that, I am thrilled with the purchase.
