M-D Building Products 8" x 32" Screen Door Push Grill
This item was purchased as a replacement for a previous purchase of 2 push bar tubes attached to the screen door frame. The push bar tubes worked for a while, but were unfortunately cut too short before installation; as a result the tubes would come loose from the attached tube holders on each side of the door frame. The M-D Building Products 33167 8" x 32" Screen Door Push Grill solved our problem as the device attaches directly to the screen frame, not the door frame, which makes it much easier to replace the screen door from season to season. Although there was initial concern about the proper dimension fitting the screen frame, a bit of coaxing the M-D Push Grill into place with smaller metal screws solved the problem. The metal screws supplied with the M-D Screen Door Push Grill were too long to safely insert into the screen door frame. The beauty of this item is that no longer do we worry about damaging our screen door when we go out each day. The M-D Screen Door Push Grill safely protects the screen from (ahem) large-bottomed folks who don't think to exit the house carefully. :)

Protection Plus
We have two puppies that have grown significantly in 9 months. The one (a male) has tested his jumping legs numerous times and could see him getting higher every time. So I bought this to put over the bottom edge of our screen door. Figured sooner or later without it the male would shred the screen. Boy was I right. When he stands on his hind legs to look out his paws hit the screen dead center. Great product. This Screen door is a pocket door. Both screen and window slid inside. So it wouldn't be to easy to replace the screen.

Number One in a Field of One
Quality is less than stellar. A rivet in the long end that is meant to secure the frame to the screen fell out of the box before I could even reach in and remove the screen. I'm hoping to find a tiny screw to insert in there. I would have more easily shrugged it off had this cost half what I paid. The fact that this is about the ONLY such device I could find on the market closed the sale. Another commentator noted that the item is shorter than advertised and included photos. He was correct and his measurements convinced me that this item would work in my door. ADDENDUM: Screen was painted and installed. It turned out that the screen is not the most perfect of rectangles. Priority was given to making the top of the screen level, which caused the bottom part to skew about a half-centimeter to the right of the top part. See red line in photo.

That it needs all of its rivets.
It was missing a rivet. I’ll try to repair it.

Solved our problem with dogs. With spray paint added it looks great on the door.
We use this to protect our screens from our 3 large dogs who crowd the door and have pushed numerous screens out of the door. We could not get them to break this habit and it was getting expensive & annoying to replace the screens so we decided to try this. Our screen door is stained wood and did not have much space between the door handle and the wood bottom of the screen. This was one of a very few options to fit that space so we decided to give it a try. It has worked perfectly for us and is unobtrusive. We spray painted this grill using one coat of "Rust-o-leum Forged Hammered paint & primer in one" in the Chestnut color so that the metal did not stand out against the screen or the wooden door. We let each side dry for about an hour in the sun before spraying the back side and let the entire thing dry 24 hours before attaching to the door. This worked well for us. The paint has stayed on and the dogs have stopped putting their heads through the screens. In fact, we have not seen them try to push through the screens since this went up. Just seeing the barrier seems to be enough to break them of this habit.
