This is the same thread that comes with many of those "starter kits" but I find that it doesn't need to be specialty or expensive. I've been using this thread for a long time and it's inexpensive but strong, slides through leather cleanly and comes in a host of colors. The rolls are a nice size and the braided strands thread nicely on needles. Highly recommend.

I ordered this to make Dream Catchers with, not to bead, or sew leather. it worked just fine for me, and I have no complaints. I do advise someone that is using seed beads, you will need a threader. This is just to thick, and waxy to slip a bead on. It looks great on a dream catcher, and I use less of this item than the hemp I used. I will order more of this for sure to make dream catchers with. More colors, and very sturdy!

I wanted waxed thread for binding junk journals for personal use. I am very sensitive to scents so I was a little worried about the smell as some had reported. I received the order quickly and in good condition. Each spool was individually wrapped in plastic. There was a distinct smell (reminded me of Morocco) but it was not overwhelming to me. The smell did not linger in the room or on the journal. In order to smell it, I have to intentionally smell the spool of thread. Seems sturdy enough for what I intend to use it for. I would recommend and purchase other colors as well.
