Abu Garcia Blue Max Low Profile Baitcast Reel and Fishing Rod Combo, 7'

I received my rod/reel combo and couldn't be more pleased. Opened the box and it was all in one piece without a scratch. Found a nice saltwater pond near me and after just a few casts, I landed a nice spotted bass. Casts great, good sensitivity and looks amazing! Perfect for tossing soft plastic baits and smaller spoon jigs. It's been over two years since I've used a bait casting set up and fished comfortably all day without a major backlash! The reel is smooth and easy to dial in. All I did was turn the break dial to max and loosened until the bait dropped to the water. Just need to adjust according to the weight of your rig and you're ready to rock! The set up truly lives up to all the hype! Great all around baitcaster! I recommend it to all levels of fishermen/women. Well, enough talk... time to hit the new favorite spot and slay some more bass!

For a cheap rod this thing has yet to let me down. I can throw anything on this and set it up however I need for the conditions. I find myself using this setup more than my lews mach crush.

I order 2 of these rods and when they came in one of the rods were broken, so I sent it back and received a new one. The second time I took this rod out fishing I literally snapped in half while setting the hook! I have owned many ABU Garcia rods and reels so this was a disappointment. I am currently submitting a claim with the manufacturer to see about replacing this rod. Depending on how this goes will determine if I purchase anymore fishing equipment from them.

This is my second Abu Garcia the fish one fell off my boat, I can say I'm really please with this combo will definitely buy again..

This is a great set up Rod is awesome with Winn grips top and bottom something you find on more expensive rods . The reel is super nice as well cast really far no back lash if you adjust correctly . I ordered three times FINALLY got one in perfect shape . FWI if you receive one of these from Amazon damaged go online CALL Abu Garcia they will replace it free under the Abu Garcia Warranty and I picked the model and kept the Amazon rod and reel that was scratched !!!!!! To adjust set brake on left side to off then turn 6 clicks then go to knob on right side turn towards you until your bait hits the floor or water with no back lash / knob on right turn forward for less falling motion of bait turn toward you for more falling action of bait do this until it hits the floor with no back lash then your ready to go fish !!!!

Buyer be ware. The rod was broken just like everyone else said. These people have no idea how to pack their stuff. The rod really looks good but if the pole is broken what good is the reel

Packaging was sub-par, but luckily the rod and reel was in one piece. I still gave it 5 stars because this is a nice baitcaster rod and reel. I've put 12lb flouro on and it is very smooth and easy to control.
