I have a long-haired dog who’s a magnet for mats, especially around his ears and legs. I bought the Fur Magic Dematting Comb after reading a bunch of positive reviews, and overall, I'm pretty impressed—but it’s not perfect. Pros: - It works really well on dense mats. The blades are strong enough to get through tangles without too much pulling, which is a huge plus. It definitely removed mats that my regular brush couldn’t touch. - Feels sturdy. The handle is solid and comfortable to grip, even during longer grooming sessions. - Less hair around the house. After using this a couple times a week, I noticed a clear drop in the amount of fur left on furniture and clothes. Cons: - Can be a bit harsh. If your pet has sensitive skin, you really need to be gentle. The teeth are made of metal and therefore hard. - Not ideal for small or nervous pets. My dog tolerates grooming pretty well, but he still flinched a few times when I hit a tough knot. I’d be cautious using this on a skittish animal. - Takes time and patience. You can't just run this through like a normal brush. It takes a bit of effort to get through thicker areas. Bottom line: If you have a medium to large dog or cat with serious mats or thick undercoat, the Fur Magic Dematting Comb is a great tool—just make sure you go slowly and carefully. For pets with finer hair or sensitive skin, you might want to stick to a softer grooming tool.

Good for my long coated German Shepherd

I’ve been using this comb/rake for about 18 months and recommend it highly. It’s comfortable for me to use, and for the dogs. It gets far more dead hair out than an ordinary comb (although I do finish the grooming session by using a comb), and is easy to wash clean. Compared to a Mauser rake it is just as effective and much better value for money. Note that it is meant to be used on a regular/frequent basis and is not designed to cope with mats that have developed over a significant period of time.

I have a Maine Coon cat it's very hard finding what to buy to stop her coat getting knots. I'm still looking.

Well made brush, got this for my cat. Very good for the under coat, then use a soft brush afterwards. Ideal for matted fur.

Good for long haired cats too.
