I have another brand of top entry litter box, so I was excited when I found the IRIS brand as a less expensive option. The design of the lid does reduce litter tracking, but I wish the lid were thicker and more substantial. My cats are average size/weight, and the brief moment they're entering or exiting the litter box causes the lid to sag downward. I haven't had the unfortunate collapse of the lid into the box, but I'm afraid it's inevitable. There are no "gutters" made into the bottom of the litter box, so cleaning/scooping is quick and simple. This review would get 5 stars, but the flimsy lid held it back.

I bought two different top-entry boxes when I returned from years abroad with my cats. This unit is better than the other in every way. Sturdier: This litter box is stronger and less flexible than the other one I bought. I currently use clay litter, and tip the box in the long direction to loosen any "wall-pee" before scooping. This box flexes less and feel stronger. No mess: The inward hinge motion allows you to clear all loose litter on the lid back into the box. Other units with edge hinges that pivot the lid on the box edge dump their litter on the floor. The only fix is to disassemble the inferior litter box lid hinge every time and shake the lid off in the box. Less sticky surface: Wet clumped litter doesn't stick to the inside of this litter box as readily as the other box I tried. It does still stick, but it releases more easily, often with a gentle shake of the box, or a tap on the outside wall. To be fair, the other box releases if I tap the wall firmly, but this one is easier. That covers it. This litter box is easier & faster to scoop & clean; makes less mess when cats leave loose litter on the lid (which is why we got this design -- to force them to walk a step or two in a place that returns loose litter to the box instead of our floor); and feels like it will last. Bonus: It came with one of those (admittedly only slightly better than mediocre) litter scoops you see as free add-ons. It's not great, but we just got back from out of the country, and it was nice to have one. (Though I prefer the Arm & Hammer scoop more)

This is THE best litter box I’ve ever owned! I have a little girl would will not get inside and turn around to potty so this is a lifesaver! She took to it without issue and it’s so easy to scoop with the flip lid.

THIS CAT BOX IS PERFECT! (Jump to second paragraph if you don’t want to read the history of cat boxes in this house lol). When our cat was a kitten we used a low to the ground shallow litter box she could get in and out of, she was tiny. Once she was ready for a bigger cat box we got a top entry so that the dogs couldn’t get to it. It was great and we had purchased a second one after a year (I like to only use the plastic ones for a year or so and then get a new one). When I went to get a replacement the third time I saw the stainless steel ones and decided to try it, only it wasn’t top entry, just had high sides and back. Well, our very particular cat refused to use it. She would get in it and then jump right out, the drama lol. So I came back on to reorder the same one we had been using, but I saw this one and it looked a bit more functional so I decided to try it. I’m so glad I did! This will be the one that I come back to order again! It’s the perfect size for her, good price, keeps the scent contained, is easy to scoop the sticky yucky pee out and it keeps the dogs out lol. But what I REALLY love is that when I go to clean it, the top FLIPS UP (and stays attached!!!!) and any cat litter that has tracked onto the lid, where the cat jumps in and out of the box, goes right back into the cat box! Our old top entry ones didn’t flip open, you had to fully remove the lid every time you went to clean it which always resulted in spilt litter from the tracking and honestly was just a pain in the butt compared to this one! Would highly recommend this litter box!

We've been using the Clever Cat top entry litter box for well over a decade, but it was time to refresh the boxes and this product looked like it would be the perfect replacement. I'm giving this three stars because it might be okay for some other cat but for me it's a no go. What I like a lot: These are a bit larger than the Clever Cat, which is always nice The smooth plastic interior makes scooping and cleaning super easy. The vented lid really stops litter tracking! I'm impressed! What just didn't work for me: The flip up lid is, quite honestly, unnecessary and it's the reason I can't use these. The primary issue is that the lids attach to the box by two small plastic parts on the sides of the lid, which are inserted into corresponding holes in the sides of the box. The insertion is not secure and kind of flimsy and two of my three cats were unable to use one of the boxes due to the lid falling into the box. I don't know whether the fact that it was only one of the two boxes is due to a problem with one box (i.e., whether the attachment is more secure on the other box) or whether this is a factor of two of the cats preferring one box, but I can't have litter boxes perceived as threats or else the cats will start doing their business elsewhere. In addition, the flip up top flips down on my head while I'm scooping. Not all the time, and I would live with this if it weren't for the other issue, but it's just another example of the easy fix -- if these lids fit into the top edge of the boxes in the same way that the Clever Cat lids do, I would singing the praises of this item. The lock feature is so-so. It's not obvious, so I can't assume that my cat sitter will understand it -- and the lock is important -- if it's not set properly, the cat will just fall into the box. Again, this could all be solved by making the full circumference of the lid part of a lip that fits over the box. Finally, this isn't a big deal but the hanging scoop is just a waste of design. It's in the cat's way.

The jump in litter box is nice. Iove how they come in different colors and comes with a scooper you can hang outside or inside. Big enough for even big cats. I have 3 cats. I bought 3 of these. The lid design swings up for easy cleaning.I love how the holes in lid are decent size so loose litter goes back inside when flipped up.Definitely leaves less mess. Seller shipped fast and was delivered in a big box. No damage to litter box. Very happy with these over other jump in boxes.Price was also great over other litter boxes from major pet stores.

Grande, practica, evita reguero de arena

A mi gato le ancantò es un poco grande pero encntrè un buen lugar para ponerlo y dejo de usar su otro arenero de inmediato, ahora entra con menos precauciòn y sale màs tranquilo, la recomiendo mucho. Mi gato ha tenido arenero abiertos cerrados de doble entrada grandes y pequeños y sin duda este es el mejor para èl, y para mi deje de tener problemas de arena alrededor, sin importar cuanto rasque mi gato.

Calidad del plástico regular pero fue muy util

Aunque parezca poco intuitiva mi gato aprendio a usarla casi al instante, si se nota bastante el bloqueo de olores y aunque a mi gato le gusta aruñar bastante el fondo no ha sufrido ningun daño.

Es exelente si tienes perros,le da privacidad a tu gato
