Greatly exceeded expectations
Greatly exceeded my expectations. Bought this for the first time, and wasn't sure what to expect. Exactly as described, but greatly exceeded expectations on taste, packaging and even delivery time. Almost can't believe it. This isn't the "dry" kind, so you'll need to keep it frozen until you want to eat it, but the flavor is amazing, and quality is top notch. I'm quite blown away to be honest. Buy this if you are in need of large quantities of great tasting jerky, can't wait to try the other flavors.

Excellent bulk jerky option!
I just tried some of the 10 pound pepper flavored jerky, and I am very pleased with my purchase. I kept in mind what other reviewers said about the greasy coating, inconsistency among different pieces, and the pepper being too strong, and after trying it I can say those things are not as bad or noticeable as others have stated. The pepper makes it a little spicy which is fine to me, and I wouldn’t have even noticed any grease had I not read about it beforehand. I had about 6 pieces already and have not noticed any inconsistency. It seems about normal for beef jerky to me. The main difference is the slices are not as thin as most other jerkies, which makes sense since it’s in bulk. I also plan to follow the recommendation of another review I read to freeze some of it in smaller bags, since the seller instructs to consume or freeze it after opening the vacuum sealed bag. Jerky is one of my favorite snacks, but it’s expensive, so I really appreciate this seller for making it available in bulk. It’s way cheaper than any other jerky I could find anywhere, and the quality is excellent in my opinion. Looking forward to trying another flavor next time I order!

Don't be fooled
Often, beef jerky and kippered beef are considered to be one and the same. Actually, jerky is usually dried in smaller strips and not smoked. The word "kippered" refers to the way the food is preserved. Most kippered beef is smoked and not as dried out as jerky. The slices can be rather thick and slightly more moist than jerky. That's why it is thick and moist, and far more tender than beef jerky, I really wouldn't call it beef jerky, per se, not in the traditional sense, this is more of a beef snack than beef jerky, there is a distinction between kippered beef and jerky beef. All differences aside this product has a great taste, as most kippered beef is smoked, the recalcitrance of some people to eat it is most likely founded upon familiarity with the traditional thinner and tougher beef jerky, rather than call it beef jerky I think a more appropriate title would be beef steak snack. As far as the level of pepper they use, that's subjective and preferential, for me it's perfect, then again I think Sriracha Sauce and Tabasco are the perfect substitutes for all other condiments, it's got that nice slow burn pepper kick, not immediately hot but sneaks up on you the more you eat. I gave it five stars across the board, and if you want to talk value, you can keep eating your Jack Links at $20 a pound, not me, at $7.79 a pound this is a steal. I suggest you try their teriyaki if you have an aversion to pepper, either way it goes this is an excellent product, and as far as spoilage goes I have had no issues whatsoever, I freeze it in 1 lb bags and the open bags are usually out for 6 to 7 days before being consumed, with no spoilage or change in flavor that I've noticed.

Update-After no choice but to try them-Not so terrible as I previously wrote here!
Update-After no choice but to try them, I did get use to the texture and taste! Not so bad after-all! Saltier than cared for, but I do eat them once in a while! Froze them to keep them longer! No issues with freshness either. Hence my rating increase! Not a total waste and got my money's worth, at least! So I got my huge 10 lbs bag a few days ago, whoo-hoo I thought! But yeah, pretty much what everyone says on this one star reviews! Thought I was getting "real beef Jerky!" Pressed pieces of meat and high sodium content! Definitely not healthy for you! Not that pure beef is! Just a snack when you got the munchies! The first piece was not so good! Yikes!! Left it alone for a few days! Tried another piece, still very salty but not so bad! Gee, didn't know this was an acquired taste, like venison, bear and all that wild gamie meat! I had worse, but definitely disappointed here! On a scale of 1-10, a 4 or it depends on the piece you get! Doubt a piece in there is a 10, since it's not real jerky to begin with! Sadly, didn't realize food can't be returned, my bad! Just assumed Amazon accepted anything, within reason to be returned if one was unhappy with their purchase. If it was from a grocery store, I'd go back and return it! Maybe a little less salt, and no water (as I understand real jerky doesn't use water). Given the weight and price, alas, you get what you pay for! Since no choice but to keep it while still fresh, better pkg it in small parts and freeze them! And drink lots of brewskies or liquids to wash it down! lol! Live n learn!

Good but too much salt.
Has good flavor, right amount of peppering and good meaty chunks. Only complaint is how salty it is. Its loaded with it.

Waste of money
I like other flavors this company has made, and the prices. Lately they only seem to make Sweet and Hot, and this one. Disappointing. Maybe it's a personal preference but I found peppered disgusting. It had no other flavor. It was like shaking pepper into your mouth and trying to swallow. I ended up throwing away 90% of the bag after falling to re-marinate 10% of bag.

Great value, really great all around peppered jerky.
I read the mixed reviews and I decided to try it out as I eat a lot of protein based snacks, jerky, nuts, etc. After getting it delivered I immediately opened It and yes, its got a slight “greasy” coating, BUT, I really haven’t had much jerky that wasn’t. And it’s meat , in a 10lb bag… it’s going to get smashed together.. anyways.. So no mold, no odors, just a big ole bag of jerky for a really great price. Almost half of the price of jerky I’m usually buying by the 10-16oz pack. Very satisfied and will order again…. Maybe Next year! I have so much! I vacuum sealed it into 8oz and 16oz and one 2lb individual baggies, that will just go right in the freezer. Excellent deal! And got here in 2 days. Here’s how I see it, as I make my own quite often… you need to have 5x the weight of beef going in as you have finished jerky going out. That means minimum 50lbs of meat was used to make all this jerky, that comes to 2$a lb for the meat going in. You can’t even buy London broil on its best day at double that.. so yes very very good deal.

Good beef, bad jerky
It had a great taste, but went moldy very quickly. Don't order unless you can break down and vacuum seal yourself.
