This thing works great! I needed a heavy knife that would cut through chicken bones. I feed my cats a raw diet and grind chicken parts with bones in my grinder. The bones need to be no more than about 3 inches by 3 inches or they will clog my grinder. This big knife is sharp enough and heavy enough to get the job done. It's a dangerous weapon so once it's cleaned and oiled, it goes back in it's box until the next use. You definitely don't want to accidentally drop this thing on your foot or let a child use it. Don't use barefoot!

This is the battle axe of bone choppers. Heavy!!! I had to replace a “cleaver” that was one of my faves. The old was good for chopping meat but chipped when really chopping bones. This one doesn’t flinch. If anything, make sure your cutting board can take it. Don’t use on a counter, this thing will axe it easily.

Good knife quality - sharp cuts and good grip

It’s definitely big, but the edge needs some work. Not going to be slicing tomatoes with it that’s for sure. That’s probably the only issue.

So, parts of the post say it is 6.25mm thick and part say 7mm. My calipers show it is the full 7mm. It is a little more curved than absolutely necessary, but it chops pretty effectively. I'll report back if the edge doesn't hold up, but it seems well heat treated. After using it for a while, it holds up very well. I have XXL hands, and it could be a little smaller in the grip for me. If you don't have large hands, it could be a little dangerous. Makes short work of turkey carcass for soup

It looks like it will do the job. However, until I cut a kangaroo tail in half for my dog, I'll withold judgement on the actual effectiveness of it. But it certainly looks like it will do the job. And of course "bone chopper" in the title suggests it will work. Time will tell.

This Cleaver has some weight to it. It get stuff done. Recommend it to anyone. You better have a good forearms.
