Accurate scale, poor app database.
The media could not be loaded. Connectivity - connected to my phone easily with the app.Quality - the glass surface makes it feel expensive compared to my old machine that was very plastic.Ease of use - buttons slightly awkwardly placed but once you get the hang of them they work well with a solid click feel.Weight - light weight yet sturdyFunctionality - Positively it is very accurate and works as expected without any issues. Plus it can weigh liquid poured straight into a glass which is great, instead of transferring between a measuring jug and glass. Unfortunately there are two issues. Firstly the app's database does not have many branded foods in it. Secondly, the scale is very sensitive and pushing the buttons affects the weigh numbers. It settles back but it is slightly worrying when you see the numbers jump about. (See video).Readability - very clear to read the weight display, maybe slightly difficult to read the unit type if you need glasses and haven't got them on!

The scales that keep me honest (and make me feel like a master chef).
I bought the RENPHO Kitchen Scales and let me tell you, these scales are seriously keeping me on track. I used to eyeball my ingredients, thinking I was some kind of kitchen wizard... but now, thanks to these scales, I’m realizing that my “guesstimates” were, in fact, total chaos. These scales have zero tolerance for my cooking “creativity” — it’s either precise or nothing. They sync with the app too, so I feel like I’m running a high-tech kitchen, as if I’ve stepped into the future where all of my food measurements are perfectly calculated. I’ve never been more accurately disappointed in myself for thinking I knew how much flour I needed (spoiler: I didn’t). Now, I just trust the scales, and they keep me in check.Plus, they’re sleek, lightweight, and easy to clean — it’s like they’re designed for someone who’s bad at cooking but too proud to admit it. If you want to take your kitchen game to a whole new level and stop “winging it,” get yourself these scales. They’re not just accurate, they’re judgment-free and will ensure you never add “too much” again (unless you’re talking about chocolate chips, in which case, I support your decisions).

Robust and great looking food scale let down by poor mobile app
I have been a fan of Renpho products, having purchased their digital body scale, their massage gun and tape measure. Renpho products are often of exceptional quality and built to last. The RENPHO Electronic Digital Kitchen Scales with Tare Function falls into the quality category.- The tempered glass is nice to touch and easy to clean.- The display is easy to read as the units are large.- There’s a nice back-light display to make reading the measurements even easier.- There’s a Bluetooth connection. This allows you to log measurements to the proprietary Renpho Health app.- Via the app, you can control how fast the display turns off when idle. But those are the only positive aspects, at least based on my experience.Other considerations include:- The scale is white and only comes in white.I would like to have ordered a black one, akin to my Salter kitchen scale, that lasted over six years, which I use every day, as a matter of both habit and convenience.- There’s no way to increase the timeout display for the back light- The controls at the front of the unit like the off button are tricky to reach, easy, but uncomfortable. This is because of the distance between the buttons from a kitchen surface, for example.- The food logging via the proprietary Renpho Health is appalling:a/ The design isn’t very nice, poor UI and poor UXb/ The UI is super confusing. I want to log my food and go, not spend an hour plating up food, so why isn’t there a fast food log option?c/ When you register your details, you must input your details again, like weight. This is despite the app already having a record of your weight under some user cases. It’s this attention to detail which I find disappointing.d/ There is no ability to scan a product’s barcode to retrieve details of the food easily.e/ There are no guarantees that the food you try to log is in their database. I tried their new and old database. For example, when searching for Stamford Street Oats (Sainsburys’ own brand oats). No match. There’s some decent fuzzy matching. But, I feel what’s the point in choosing a substitute oat product? I could log the product myself, but that’s way too much effort. It’s likely the food database is US-centric.f/ Renpho should partner with one of the bigger companies, like MyNetDiary. Or MyNetDiary needs to make their own scale! Those guys have got the UI/UX down to a fine art. Having interoperability between an outstanding app and this scale would IMOH be fantastic for all.g/ The scale takes three AAA batteries, while Renpho provides these, this device really should support a USB-C charge. As it stands, I will most likely use this scale as a dumb scale, i.e. I’ll measure the food and log it into MyNetDiary. I’ll also keep trying the Renpho app. But, I’ve got over 20 years’ experiences in app development and their app screams awful. For many customers, this product and feature set may fit their needs. I respect that. It, unfortunately, does not fit mine for its intended purpose, mainly because of the app, which is a shame. I hope Renpho works with MyNetDiary or looks to improve the app. Then, things could get very interesting.

Very bad app not exactly a smart scale
The app is terrible, I'm currently walking round my kitchen scanning things in the hopes it picks something up but as of yet, no joy...I wanted this scale for it's SMART aspect, not just to weigh things and unfortunately it's pointless. I have scales already that are very good but no smart function and now I just have another scale with Bluetooth that is pointless when I have to input everything manually into the app...gutted with my purchase in all honesty
