No, it doesn't require WiFi to work. It's an old school radio with a thin wire serving as antenna. Having said that, the FM reception is excellent! Overall, a very good little radio. You'll be pleased with the auto-dimming feature.

Can i set the alarm to week days only ??

Will this clock hold the time zone? my time zone never changes hours. i had a clock like this, set for my zone, that changed time anyway. so annoying!

Hello and yes, I believe it will hold the time zone, according to the instruction booklet that came with it. There is a way to disable the daylight savings time option on the clock, and I have done that with mine.
