1lb Dried Whole Hibiscus Flowers and Petals, Flor de Jamaica

I shopped hibiscus tea/flowers to death before deciding on this one. Reviews for this one, plus lot's others were mostly positive, though the few negative ones raised some concerns about contaminants. The main reason I decided upon this one as my first purchase of hibiscus was because this was the only seller who had a satisfaction guarantee. What do you have to lose? Pros: - Mostly Whole flowers, at least 90%. The rest is petals and centers that have been separated by processing, packaging and shipping. - The label says use 7g for one cup. NO WAY. I used less than 2g and wound up with an excellent tasting, super dark purple tea. - Only about one teaspoon of small particles and dust. You should check it thoroughly like I did. - A very reasonable price, especially when compared to others who offer cut and (hopefully) sifted (hopefully well) flowers. - Best price per pound vs. the majority of others. - Brews excellent, high-quality tea. - The taste was mild, yet wonderful. Neutral: - I found two 1 1/2" stems, three 2" long pieces of what looked like dried, brown grass. - There was less than 1 teaspoon of powder and very small pieces. - Other highly rated items had numerous reviews of powder, rocks, leaves, stems/twigs, bugs and animal stuff that was found. So, I went through this thoroughly before putting it into quart mason jars. Cons: - The packaging needs to be improved. Very thin and susceptible to being punctured by dense packing. My package had one 1/16" diameter hole in it. The zipper seal does not close well. - Density of packing needs to be reduced to the point where damage is no longer caused. - Stated weight of 453 grams is for the entire package, including wrapper. That weighed 10g or about 3/8 of an ounce. Guess I'm nitpicking here. I therefore recommend this highly. Though I could not find contact information through Amazon, this company has their own website where you can contact them. I will purchase this again when i run out.

I’m really happy with these hibiscus leaves! The 2 lb bag was very affordable for the amount you get, and the quality exceeded my expectations. The leaves were fresh, vibrant, and made such a delicious tea. The flavor is rich, smooth, and refreshing with the perfect tartness. I’ve already made several batches and still have plenty left. Great value and great taste I would definitely buy again!

This is a lot of tea for the price. And it is quite delicious. Seems very clean , high quality and extremely fresh. I love opening the bag and smelling this wonderful hibiscus flower. Smells as good as the tea is.

My family loved this tea. We added honey and lemons which made the taste really good. Can be used iced or room temperature. The assorted colors consist of a very rich burgundy berry-look and the aroma was nice. I was still able to create more with the petals after two handfuls.

Excellent! Very fresh and flavorful. Arrived in great shape, not beat up or crumbled. Makes incredible Jamaica agua fresca.

Strong taste and aroma! Not fully dried but it is a little soft, It would be perfect if it was cleaned as well, product need to be washed with cold water to clean and that will waste some of the concentration, please figure out how to clean it fully before you start drying

These are amazing! You get SO much in the bag, and they are so potent. Got a deep dark purple tea in just the first couple minutes of steeping. Flowers seem really really fresh, and will last is a long time. They make the best summer drinks. Would absolutely buy again!

This is the first time I’m purchasing the full flowers of hibiscus. Previously I’ve purchased the cut and sifted. I’m really enjoying this. I find I get so much more out of it. I boil my water in tea kettle and from one cup of flowers I get an entire 64oz pitcher of hibiscus tea. Concentrated hibiscus water. Very few times I’ve had to add water to it. The texture is great especially easy to strain. You get the full benefit from the flower. The color is vibrant and the taste is great by itself. For my hibiscus water I normally squeeze one lime and sweeten with honey. It is fresh and easy to use. Most definitely worth your money. I encourage you buy it. Great drink for summer. You can even spike with a coconut rum if you like an Amy daughter did for her book club.

There’s better bang for your buck out there on Amazon, but the product was good
