These are one of those kitchen items that I feel kind of silly owning because I'm really a minimalist when it comes to the kitchen...I hate gadgets that are single-purpose, redundant (do what another kitchen tool could do), or do something that isn't that hard to do in the first place (eg. choppers). So, I resisted purchasing this for a long time because, really, what can this do that my good, old, trusty steel wool couldn't do? I was wrong. This is awesome. How plastic is able to so effectively clean cast iron I'll never know, but this does the job. It fits perfectly in the grooves of my griddle/skrillet/skriddle - well - this thing - Lodge LDP3 Double Play Reversible Grill/Griddle, 9.5" x 16.75" It's also perfectly shaped to scrape out my cast iron skillet and cast iron dutch oven. My only issue - why two? I can't quite figure out why I or anyone else would possibly need 2 of these, but they come in a 2-pack nonetheless. I'd be happier if one of these came with one of these - Lodge SCRAPERPK Durable Polycarbonate Pan Scrapers, Red and Black, 2-Pack But oh well, I'll just pass the other one along to a friend...a very, very good friend. I'm super happy with this purchase and if I lose mine I will absolutely buy another to replace it. Makes cleaning up cast iron so much easier and quicker...which makes me want to use my cast iron more...which means more yummy food so everyone is happy.

I have just started within the past few months of using and purchasing cast iron pans and grills. I have purchased several 'Lodge' pans and a large grill/griddle which I have been very happy with. Learning about cast iron and how to use and clean it is quite a bit different than any other type of pans or grills. Even though the pans and grills are pre-seasoned and you season again before and after each use, some meat still sticks to them and I needed a good, safe way to get it off. I purchased this set and the other set similar to this one. These feel like a hard teflon or plastic and I thought the ridges or teeth in these would fit my 20" grill/griddle I bought for camping also made by Lodge. One side of the griddle is smooth and the other side has grooves/ridges. The teeth or ridges of this scraper does not fit smoothly into the grooves/ridges of the grill/griddle like I thought it would since both are made by Lodge. For the flat surface, it works pretty good and for the pans, the curve of this scraper does fit nicely to clean within the curveness of the pans. Overall, it seems like it will last for some time but it was not good at what I was hoping it would do well at and that is getting into the groove or ridges of the rectangular grills/griddles. It does work within the grooves/ridges but it is not the fit I expected. For other pans it does work nicely.

This is the absolute perfect item to have to scrape your cast iron clean, but with the addition of the "teeth", those hard to clean grooves are not hard to clean anymore. I love the 2-pack, because inevitably I will lose one of them by putting it somewhere "clever". It makes a not so fun task so much easier I am thinking about getting some as stocking stuffers this year for everyone I know who has and uses their cast iron. Great product, great price.

For two years have been using a stiff plastic scrub brush to clean the grooves. This works much better and I should have bought it right away after the mess described below. It's very strong plastic. Engineered to fit either narrow or wide Lodge grooves. I love my Lodge grill skillet! Some precautionary advice - Had a Lodge scraper like this two years ago. One day it was wet on a towel by the sink and I set a wet cold stainless skillet on it. Did not realize it 'stuck' to the skillet bottom because of the water. Moved it to a glass top electric stove. What a mess when the plastic melted. Be very careful not to do this. Nightmare to get the burned plastic off the stove and skillet. New one gets put away immediately after washing.

Not much to say here, its purpose is to scrape your cast iron pan, skillet, grill pan. Yes, it does all that but it does not help me much with my way of cleaning. My way? I would put some water in the pan, boil/heat it up and use something to scrape it. I used a bamboo spatula prior to trying this. They both do the some work. Comparing the two? The bamboo is gradually losing the wood but this one does not. This also help clean the grill pan a little faster. However, the spatula with the long handle makes cleaning much easier. Up to you. If you clean while boiling then this needs a longer handle to be comfortable, if you clean it in the sink this may be a good thing.

I bought this with the cast iron, enamaled grill pan. We almost immediately burned a few things on the pan, wouldn't have been able to get the crust off without this tool.

Definitely worth it to buy this if you have a grill pan. Otherwise it is way too much of a pain trying to clean in between the rows. The last pan I quit using it was so much of a pain trying to clean all the junk off! It was a waste of an otherwise perfectly good pan, but I didn't know too much about cast iron back then as I do now. Bought a new lodge and saw this as one of the suggested buys. The smaller teeth work perfectly for my 10.5 inch lodge grill pan. You can also use the flat side on other stuck on pieces on other pans so not just for grill pans. This is the one accessory I wish I knew about sooner. Can't say I tested this for heat resistance on a piping hot pan, but it is plastic so not going to test that out. Works fine when the pan is warm enough to touch. I like it includes 2 in case 1 is misplaced.

Wow, a simple device saves a ton of time in clean up. These things work great for all my pots and pans and baking sheets. They don't scratch yet get the most stubborn bits.
