When I asked where to get it, the reply was "I don’t know." After several days of research, here’s what I learned: EVERY AUTHORITY HAD THE SAME SUGGESTIONS: sleep with your head elevated 6-8 inches make sure your ENTIRE upper torso is supported on an angle avoid certain foods Methodically I began the hunt for a wedge pillow. I felt like Goldilocks. This one was too uncomfortable. Too inconvenient. Too expensive. But none if them was right. I need to be supported through the entire torso - and I coudn't find what I needed. So I did what any inspired sufferer would do, invented my own! Now I had a pillow that fully supported me, was comfortable and even folded for storage. And I am happy to make these same pillows available here for you. Adele Review: Works well even for a big guy - I have acid reflux and sleep apnea. I use a cpap machine and have been using a 25" length pillow wedge for the last couple of years. I am also a 6 foot 270 pound man. I just got over a terrible virus with a bad dry cough. My doctor told me that it was made worse and I was more prone to get sick due to the acid reflux. It's good I saw him for I am on meds for the reflux and he said the acidic aspect was gone but it was still there in nonacidic form causing damage. Primary reason was not sleeping at the correct angle. As many of us have learned the shorter length wedge merely raises the head and constricts the stomach making the reflex and all the problems it causes much worse. Of course I was told to raise my bed if possible but it is not. He then recommended this pillow and it has helped tremendously. It took about 1 week to get used to sleeping on it and I must say that is a good thing. I was concerned that due to my size and weight that the pillow would easily loose its firmness and squish down in size but that has not been the case at all. You are supposed to sleep with the side with the wedges up and the pillow is very comfortable while helping you stay in place. It just took me time to get used to sleeping on such a slant. The previous smaller wedge was not effective for my body enveloped it and its firmness quickly gave away. I begin on my back but am basically a side sleeper. I find the pillow comfortable in either position. I do wake up sometimes more towards the middle of the pillow and need to raise myself up again. it is not due to the pillow not holding me but rather me tossing around. My nighttime cough is pretty much gone and I must say it feels great to be able to lay fully prone on the pillow. I can feel that the airways are more open and it ultimately makes falling asleep much easier. There are many rave reviews here but I wanted to chime in for it has been very effective with a man of my size. Many feel the pillow is overpriced but I don't believe the quality of the foam with the correct medically recommended slant would be the same with other lower priced wedges. Highly recommend. Review: Sweet Dreams - I purchased this wedge pillow in early August after reading so many positive reviews. My primary objective was to ease my acid reflux for which I was taking expensive, potent prescription medication. I have read advice that says to elevate the head of your bed about six inches to relieve this condition, but that's not always easy or practical to do. And if you're travelling, that solution won't help at all. By nature I am not an optimistic person and thought this pillow would end up in my specialty, "wish this had worked" pillow collection. Not the case. I'm probably not saying anything here that hasn't already been said by others, but this pillow works like a charm and I have been free of acid reflux since I got it. And for me, the pillow came with bonuses: I stopped snoring, a habit which woke me repeatedly every night; my sinuses stay clear so I'm not turning from side to side trying to breath; and speaking of breathing, since I'm sleeping in a comfortable elevated position, I no longer feel like an elephant is sleeping on me all night. One of the things that I really love about it is that I can use my regular pillow on top of it. And I can sleep comfortably on my back or side. As for the price of the wedge, it was a bargain for me. A 90 day supply of my medication costs six cents more than this pillow is currently listed for on desertcart. I'm saving money, and know I have found a healthier alternative. Note: This pillow is smooth on one side and rippled on the other. When I first removed it from the box I wasn't sure which side went up. I contacted the company to find out and was told the rippled side goes up. Also, even though the one I purchased is the standard size, and plenty big enough, it is also available in an extra wide width.

Pillow to decrease acid reflux
I have a severe acid reflux. My goal was to decrease my dosage of medication due to the harmful side effects. (With my doctor's assistance). I started using this pillow, changed my diet and have reduced my medication from 60 mg per day to 15! It will take time to get used to the pillow but you can do it if you are motivated. The pillow is comfortable and at a gentle incline. You are able to use a pillow for your head. It took three nights to sleep more soundly as I had to learn how to turn in my sleep without waking myself up. The best feature is the fold up design. It comes with a carrying case so you can take it anywhere you need to go. I would invest in this pillow if you are suffering from even mild reflux. You may be able to be medication free with your physician's help.

No Odor, Good Length, Better Sleep
The Medslant pillow is longer than the wedges one can purchase off the rack. It has a wavy top and it feels firm enough for support yet soft enough for sleeping. I have been using cheaper wedges for many years and therefore I had no adjustment period to sleeping on this wedge. I use a small round pillow for neck support instead of a full pillow and thus far I have slept fairly well (for me) on this wedge. I am a side sleeper but have not been able to sleep in that position for years; I have noticed a few times, though, I have awakened to find myself on my side since I purchased this wedge pillow. This is not something I could do with shorter wedge pillows. This pillow comes in two sections. The lower section is held to the upper section via a cleverly designed zippered cover. I suggest getting the allergy cover instead of using the one that comes with the pillow. The pillow is a bit difficult to put back into the cover, particularly after washing, so I also purchased the pillow cover the company offers plus I wrap a sheet around my wedge so that I don't have to wash the zippered cover as frequently. The product was compressed upon delivery but it plumped out slightly after it was unwrapped. I am hoping it does not droop in the middle as that is the problem I have with other wedges. Time will tell. Additionally, this wedge has no odor and that was a great plus to me since I have allergies and environmental sensitivities. I use the wedge because I have had multiple ulcers, acid reflux, and some other weird issue with my stomach that keeps me from being able to rest on a flat surface. I did have an issue with my initial zippered cover and the company that makes this product offered excellent customer service and resolved my problem immediately. All in all a good product and if it holds up for more months than the cheaper wedges I shall purchase this again when the time comes. I will try to remember to return in a few months to note how well the MedSlant has held up. This product was initially suggested to me by a friend who has used one for some time.

The pillow is uncomfortable and the return policy is deceptively unclear
The MadSlant Pillow is a very useful product. The angled pillow to sleep on is a benefit to anyone with acid reflux. However, two things about the pillow I would rate as poor. First is in the design, and the second is in the way MedSlant does business. The pillow is only 24 inches wide and the front edge is more than 1/2 inch thick. It becomes difficult to not to fall off the pillow when you rollover while sleeping. The thick front edge is an irritant on my lower back causing an itch which makes the pillow uncomfortable. Given the above problems I decided the pillow would not meet my needs. I often purchase items online. I also know how difficult it is to assess the quality of items that you cannot see, and I am careful about the return policy. Because of this, I try to be clear on what the return policy is and the difficulty of returning. When I contacted the company requesting a return, they rudely responded that the return policy was in the Product Description and becaue of my description (above) they do not offer returns after the product is opened. I would never expect the return policy to be in the section called "Product description". I would expect details about the product. The "Product Description" is hardly a description at all. It contains glowing reviews from medical professionals and the justification for using the product which my doctor has already told me. This is how it is deceptive: the return policy is at the end of a ten paragraph section that is full of the fluff described above. It is restrictive by internet standards and can be missed by someone who moves on to the next section thinking they have missed nothing. This is tantamount to cheating the customer through obfuscation. I would not recommend anyone doing business with MedSlant regardless of the quality of the product. If your product is good then stand by it with good customer service, non-deceptive advertisements and descriptions, and a positive return policy that should never be needed given product quality. Returns are a cost of doing business for many firms and as a customer I expect more from any business who conducts business online.

Good Idea But Not Comfortable Enough
Update July 2019: I started using this wedge again during nights when my digestion wasn't good, but I bought a completely different pillow to put on top than I've used before. It's a pillow that cradles my head and supports my neck so that I'm forced to stay on my back more, and if I do end up on my side, my neck and cheek feel more supported in a softer way. Now, that painful kink in my shoulder blades that I mentioned below doesn't happen anymore. It's still not a very comfortable wedge pillow (not that I've tried any other types) because I still think it needs to be softer/more malleable. Original Review: I like that this foam is made of a more non-toxic material. That was important to me. I also like that I can fold the wedge in half to store or move it around. I've been sleeping with it for two weeks now, and the first couple of days I kept sliding down (which they advise you to solve by placing a pillow between or under your knees). After that, I stopped sliding down, but then my cheeck/jaw would hurt every morning when I woke up on my side. So then I kept switching the pillows I put on top of the wedge (even tried no pillow) to see if that would work. Slowly, I also began noticing a krick in my neck upon waking that steadily got worse. Now I wake up in the middle of the night with severe shoulder/neck pain and I've never had that before with regular pillows. Besides that, my night-time heartburn episodes have diminished, so that is a plus, but I don't think I can deal with this shoulder pain much longer. I think if the pillow were softer so that the shoulder could sink in more, then I wouldn't have this pain. Not sure what to do now, since I can't return it...

Great for shoulder and neck pain
First off, I didn't buy this because of acid reflux, I bought it in the hope that it would help with my neck and shoulder pain. I've had pain in my shoulders and neck for years, I even paid for a very painful shot of cortisone in my neck, nada, no pain relief at all. I've been to five different chiropractors in three different states and found no difference after even repeated treatments. But this wedge has made the pain in my shoulders and neck almost disappear. I can turn my head from side to side (I still don't have perfect range of motion) and the weird popping and grinding feeling in my right shoulder is mostly gone. With this wedge I am feeling so much better. I am a side sleeper and even with sleeping on my right side, which I suspect had something to do with the shoulder pain, I am feeling 80% better now. I can't help but wonder if I would be at a 100% if I'd bought a wedge pillow a few years ago, but you know the saying, 'if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.' I'm just grateful to have this relief now, because I was having more and more trouble doing normal, everyday things like drying my hair, riding a bike (it's surprising how much upper body strength you use to ride a bike) or vacuuming cobwebs. Now for the downside; 1. it takes a little while to get used to sleeping in a semi upright way, especially if you are a side sleeper like me. It helps to have a firm bed or else you will feel like you are sliding down the wedge all night. 2. You can't use silk pillowcases, or else you'll slide right off. 3. if you are a cuddler with your husband or wife, they will need to get a wedge too. 4. the wedge will start to wear down. I think they are made of pretty high quality foam, but I sleep on mine every night and its starting to sag a little, so I'll probably need to buy a new one every 5-6 months, small price to pay for pain relief, right? 5. If you and your bed partner both have wedges (my hubby bought his for snoring and it works like a dream) the wedges always end up pushing away from each other which means a little less cuddlebuddyness at night. I love my new neck wedge, it has made my life a little happier.

necessary for pregnancy, asthma, and acid reflux
I shuddered at the price, but it's the best thing I've bought for my health in ages. I have asthma and, shall we say, am well endowed, so lying flat on my back is not an option unless I wish to suffocate (exacerbated by the pregnancy, obviously). This helped my sciatica (some of the other brands bent you at the waist which is not good for back/sciatica) helped me breathe easier despite the weight on my chest and lack of room for my lungs at 8 months pregnant, and raised me up just enough to ease my acid reflux without keeping me up all night sliding to the foot of the bed. It did take some getting used to, and at 1st I was not comfortable at all, then I was only comfortable on my back, now I can sleep any which way (except on my stomach, of course) and sleep very well. It's ridges help keep you from sliding without being uncomfortable, in fact they support my lower back very well. The carry-case is convenient and is probably going to the hospital with us when baby is born. I could have used a 2nd fitted pillow case, because you really can't substitute it, but I'm not about to complain.
