PUKAVT Women's Vintage 1950s Dress Cocktail Party Dress

I was unsure on the size (I typically wear M, 8-10). I followed the size chart and was between the L and XL, so I went up a size instead of with the L. I love the dress - as described, the bodice is completely lined. The XL was too big. The waist was passable in fit, but the bodice was very big - gaps under my arms showing my bra - just not a good fit. Today I received my replacement - the L and YES! The size chart is spot on ... and I LOVE the dress! I might have even gotten by with a Medium knowing it has a bit of stretch, but didn't want to risk the dress being too tight. My photo shows it with the petticoat linked above! CUTE!

I am so impressed with this dress! A friend was wearing a sleeveless version of this dress recently and she shared that she'd purchased it on Amazon. I then saw this one with the cap sleeves and pockets. SCORE! I was genuinely surprised to see that it fit so well. The cut and fit is forgiving and because of the give in the fabric, it molds itself to the body easily. The skirt is full without being too much. I also like that it is versatile in that it would look great with or without a petticoat, or worn with a different belt. My friend told me her dress didn't come with pockets so I consider this cap sleeve verion a hit!. She also paid $10 more. First thing I did was wash the dress in my washing machine, but I opted to air dry it. I then tried it on a second time to make sure it fit the same and there was no shrinkage. I was so happy to see that it fit just as well. I stretched the fabric a bit before putting it on because air drying tends to make clothing a bit stiffer. Overall, this dress, for the price, is a major bargain.

I love the look of this dress and got it for a Minnie Mouse costume. The fabric feels good quality and it's not sheer at all. It's a stiffer fabric than I anticipated but not in a bad way, and doesn't really stretch (I don't need it to stretch though so maybe it would a little if it's a tight fit on you). My main issue is sizing. I took my measurement and went with the larger of the sizes I fell between, to play it safe. It fits great everywhere but in the chest, where it's rather big on me (I wear a 36C so I'm not huge up there but not tiny either). If I stand up straight and hold my shoulders back it's not very noticeable, but the second I move, it looks huge on me. I'll have to try to take it in since it fits so well everywhere else. At least in the larger sizes, you've got to be pretty large in the bust to fill this dress out.

It's cheerful without looking childish and is perfect for parties, vacations, church, or any event where you want to wear something a little different. It skims over the lower tummy without clinging and creates a very balanced, elegant look. The fabric has a nice weight to it, drapes well, and doesn't feel cheap. It moves beautifully when you walk, and the cap sleeves give just enough shoulder coverage while keeping it comfortable for warmer weather. Pros: Bright, vibrant colors exactly as pictured. Very flattering for an hourglass figure. Defined waist highlights curves without feeling tight. Flowy skirt is comfortable and forgiving through the hips and tummy. Quality fabric with a nice drape. Fun, unique design that stands out from typical floral dresses. If you're with curves like I am, this is one of those dresses that actually works with your shape instead of hiding it. It's comfortable, eye-catching, and incredibly flattering. I've received so many compliments wearing it, and it's become one of my favorite dresses when I want something colorful and fun.

It fit well, was a bit stiff out of the package but after a wash and tumble dry it softened up. It is a straight woven fabric and the top bodice came with a lining. The little sleeves helped me not feel naked I don’t like all my arms showing but short sleeves were necessary on a warm summer night. I wore it and some red Mary Jane heels, some hoop earrings with multiple color beads and beaded bracelet. Hands down it made a statement. So be confident in yourself and know who you are! I got several comments on my dress it made people smile and the bright colors were great. I picked this dress because I had volunteered to do art projects with our program participants to auction off for the fundraising gala. The art was all made out of dots so I had to wear dots! Being this type of retro dress I always have a crindiline underskirt to wear beneath it, it just adds to that feminine look and feel. It looked great with the black crindiline to poof out the skirt and make your waist look more cinched.

Such a fabulous dress! I bought this mainly for going to Mass and as a date dress. The print is so fun and bright! I have to buy a size up so I can pull it over my head since I don't have someone to zip me up but it seems to fit well. I also bought the circle print and love that too. Paired with a matching cardigan they are perfect for work if your office doesn't have a stringent work dress code.

This was my dress for graduation. I liked the design and style but it was annoying because the fabric was all cotton. In addition, my armpits were revealed a little too much. Not very impressed about that. However, if it was made more of polyester I would be very glad and give this 5 stars. But i'm not since this dress just had to be made with poor fabric but still okay. No hate though. It's a good dress. If you want it, it's not a terrible choice. I sure didn't know what I was getting but it didn't look terrible on me. The fitting was perfect so I'm okay with it. I guess i'm recommending it. But if you don't like it, just remember I told you so.

I bought this for my sister who is about 5ft 3in and about 160lb. I bought an XL. She us muscular so THIS DRESS gives her a waist line. I bought a different built and it is amazing.

I got so many compliments for this dress, really good fabric and shape, can be worn with or without a petticoat underneath. Gives you that nice 50s look and shape. So lovely.
