Super cool!!
Great product! After 4 days, my 2 parakeets finally gave it a shot... Because I was anxious for them the try this great heated perch, I arranged and rearrange their space in their large cage to make it harder for them to avoid this huge perch. They kept managing to avoid it and going around it....until now! I will be able to lower my home thermostat at night, again! I bet my feathered ones will find their new perch really handy, then.

My 26 year old cockatiel loves his perch and sits or cuddles up to it when the temperature is below 13 deg. celsius. The perches are not cheap especially when you also have to have a current converter, sent from USA but they are the only ones that I like. They are well insulated and not slippery.

Perfect! An essential item for every bird owner to own!
I live in Australia and because it's so hot every summer I always under estimate how cold winter will really be. This winter has been by far the coldest. I have a quaker parrot who is very fussy and after buying three different styles of bird plush houses, he still refused to go inside any of them and I would find him every morning, shivering and sitting on the perch outside of the houses (even though his small bed time cage is covered in three layers of thick blanket and he's in a windowless room at night with no drafts). My partner and I even tried to construct larger bird houses, which while he did sit in, still left him cold and shivering. Finally, I found these perches online. Perfect! It's a perch, not a house, so he wont be scared of it! I ordered one straight away but was dismayed when it was finally shipped and my delivery estimate was the 24th of June (over 5 weeks away from time of purchase). Last night it was so cold and my quaker was shivering and couldn't get warm no matter what I tried (hot water bottle out of reach at the bottom of his cage, a hot light bulb under his cage (which I didn't want to use because I have read that they give off toxic fumes), a makeshift house around his favourite perch, nothing worked and I went to bed so stressed and worried about him. This morning (31/05/2016) I woke up and got my poor shivering baby out of his cage, literally 10 minutes later a delivery van pulled up outside my house! and it was the perch! 24 days early!!! I ran inside and plugged it in straight away (making sure to have the correct 240V Australian adapter) and tested it after it had been running for 3 hours. It was so nice and warm! I left my hand on it for over a minute to make sure that it didn't get any hotter or burn and it didn't! It stayed the same consistent heat, perfect for my birds feet. I have read a lot of peoples reviews where they say it burnt their bird's feet, but I am sure this is due to using the wrong voltage plug/or adapter. After I was sure it was safe and wasn't getting any hotter, I put my bird on it and he instantly loved it! He looked so happy and content and even refused to jump off of it! I am so happy with this purchase! I highly recommend it to all bird owners. I believe this is a must have, not only for winter but also to have on those days where the temperature just randomly drops at night. The texture, shape is perfect and the fact that it's a perch means my parrot can chose when to stand on it and he's not at all scared of it (which is massive bonus because he's scared of pretty much everything new). 5 STARS! THANK YOU! I can finally rest easy knowing my bird is taken care of!

Toasty warm, but add self-stick bandage tape to prevent pressure sores.
The heated perch works great—my bird can’t get enough of it! However, because it’s such a hard perch and my bird wasn’t moving much while on it, she started developing pressure sores. I saw someone else post pictures of their bird’s feet and thought they were burns, but this perch doesn’t get hot enough to burn. To fix this, I just wrapped the heated perch with some self-stick bandage tape. You can get a whole box of them for cheap on Amazon. This stuff adheres to itself, so it’s super easy to wrap, and it’s very squishy. This helped tremendously—my bird’s sores went away, and now she can fully enjoy the heated perch again.
