These curtains do just waht they are supposed to do. I have had other blackout curtains throughout the house and these are excellent. I bought for my sons' to use in their room as the curtains we had in their room let in drafts and too much light for them.The draft was not bad unless it was a super cold and windy night then they were getting cold in there. These curtains completely eliminated the draft and the room is so much warmer, they said they felt a difference within 20 minutes of hanging them up on a cold day when they arrived. There was no chemical smell from them at all, which is why I ordered these for their room to begin with, but it does eliminate the draft and definitely keeps their room dark, which is what they wanted the most so if they are watching a movie or playing the all important video games during the day it keeps any and all glare off the TV and makes them extremely happy. My youngest son ( he is the early riser of the 3) even overslept on the first couple of mornings due to the fact that t heir room is now so dark and completely sheilded of the morning sunrise ( their room faces the street, and gets all the sun in the morning) as I did buy the black curtains for their room, I asked them if they want a lighter set and they said no way, they will set an alarm for anytime they need to be up extra early, I did wait at lest a month of use to review and all is great, no drafts, keeps light out and they did say the traffic on the block is less noticible with these. I would recommend these if these are what you are looking for in a curtain, they are an excellent set ( great buy) and I would 100% buy more of these if needed.

We have an east-facing bedroom that just gets flooded with light at sunrise. Bought some lined curtains and installed vertical blinds, neither of which blocked the light. I had resorted to sticking cardboard in the window. That was a pain, and through any crack the lights just pours in. Hung these Amazlinen curtains last night, and extended the rod several inches on both sides. Together with the vertical blinds, there was no light seeping through the curtains this morning. Light does get in around the edges. There's a sort of halo around the window and a rectangle at the corners of the walls. But the room is dark. If you want total darkness, I suggest installing blinds with a valance at top, and make sure the curtains cover at least 6 inches or more of the wall on every side. I have included photos showing the curtains drawn with and without the blinds behind it. You can see the light that seeps through without them. So not totally dark but much better than most. The curtains are lovely--silky to touch but matte in color. The charcoal grey is dark but not obliterating, looks good in the room. Lightweight so don't pull on the weakly installed rod. Happy with this purchase and recommend to anyone who wants darkness for sleeping.

We purchased these curtains originally for our front room because the afternoon heat just beats in on the window. It gets incredibly hot, very quickly in the room so when we put these up we were very impressed that it immediately dropped the temperature and blocked out quite a bit of the sun. We like them so much we purchased a second set for our bedroom! For the price, the quality is amazing and I love the fact that you get a FULL set instead of just one panel like a lot of the other brands carry or even the big box stores.

The best block out curtains I've ever purchased and for so much cheaper. Bought two colors one charcoal grey which I thought would be much darker which is not a big deal and the light teal for my 3 y/o daughter's room (which my husband calls the happy room now bc of the color scheme I have going on around the curtain) It came with a scent I wasn't fond of but went away after a few days after being hung. The the material is super soft which is atypical. Love my purchase!

I have to say these curtains are awesome - seriously! They are good quality, price is right and the definitely do the trick for room darkening! I am not a big one to do reviews, but wanted to make sure I took the time to do one this time! Great product!! My daughter bought them as well and said the same thing!! Colors are spot on!

I have spent weeks trying to find a good black out curtain that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg! These were PERFECT! The material is amazing, the color was perfect and so was the length! All in all these were exactly what I was looking for. Not to mention I can sleep all day because my room is now Suuuuper dark

I was very pleased with these room darkening curtains and would have kept them except my curtain rod and grommets of the sheer curtain underneath are both silver. The grommets on these are "antique bronze metal eyelets." It was completely my mistake, but easy to miss. If they came with silver grommets I would have exchanged for those.

I am happy I purchased these curtains for my living room. I have not had the opportunity to test them for heat control, however, the sunlight is completely blacked out as promised. Although the material is very nice, it does wrinkle easily.
